Tie breaker scenarios
- Ties for the final wild card will require a one game play-in to be scheduled as an extra regular season game Day 182
- Ties for division titles wlll be broken by H2H record (division teams play each other 15 times so no possibility for a tie)
- Ties for playoff positions will be broken in the following order: H2H record, run differential, W-L record against teams in the same league (AL/NL), total HRs hit + total Ks (by pitching staff)
- Ties for draft position will be broken in the following order: H2H record, run differential, total HRs hit + total Ks (by pitching staff)
Budget
-Each team has a $150 salary- you can go over during offseason but must be back at or under by opening day. If league office has to correct your team being over budget you may lose:
-Players you wanted to keep
-Picks or future prospect/former player requests
-For every $20 a team is over budget on Opening Day, $5 will be removed from the following year's budget.
Special Budget Clause (added 7/12/22) - Based on the low salary demands, team budgets were reduced from $250 mil to $150 mil. If contract demands begin to rise, this clause will allow teams budgets to be increased back to the original $250. The decision to move back to $250 mil would need to receive majority vote by the league .
*This clause will not be leveraged to bail out owners who made bad financial decisions and cannot meet the team budget.
Team Management
- Every team will have a 40 man roster 25 majors 15 minors
-If team is over on players on opening day they will be given a couple days to correct- if not taken care of league office will correct- you may lose players you wanted to keep and possibly draft picks or future prospects/former player requests.
Majors- all players signed or on expiring contracts
Free Agency
-Every team has 3-4 days to send Free Agent offers to the commissioner.
-All offers need to include: amount given per year, and the amount of years (6 year max contract)
-At the end of that window, free agents sign to the best total offer, years x $ = total
-No priority bidding. Only offer contracts that you want - assume you may win them all
(Update 10/8/2022) - Any players who has a tie bid submitted in Round 1 of Free Agency will be considered unsigned. New bids will need to be resubmitted for that player in Round 2.
In the event of a tie bid after Round 2 will result in a Round 3 consisting of only players with tie bids until the tie is broken
Trades and Draft Pick Trading
-Trades are unlimited
-Draft pick trading is allowed but only for the next seasons draft
Trade Objections:
A trade committee is established to review all trades objected by an owner.
Owners must file any objections before 24 hours of the trade being completed. Objection should be email, NOT League Chat box.
Any trade objections that cannot be resolved at the committee level will be escalated to the vice commissioner for resolution
Contracts
- Teams may re-sign 1 player on an expiring contract per year. Contract demands are dictated by Pennant Chase. Years (6 year max) are dictated by the owner.
- (Update 6/13/2023) - A player's contract can be bought out and owners may elect to spread the buyout amount across 6 seasons maximum, must use whole numbers. Contract amounts will be rounded UP in the event of a conflict.
Example: OF Darryl Strawberry is owed $20 million dollars, owners may elect to do any of the following: $20x1year, 10x2years,$5x4years or $5x4 years
- (Update 11/22/2023) - If a team extends a player and trades that player, they can NOT extend another player. Teams that have already extended a player CAN trade for a player who was extended (by team trading him away).
-Players on the last year of their contract (denoted with a $), May be released without penalty as those contracts are paid in full already.
Rookie Tags
-All rookies that are drafted or free agents who have never played a game in any season are eligible to be tagged.
-If you tag your player, they do not have to be paid as long as they are under 28 years old, and stay in your minor leagues
-Once a rookie plays a game, they are ineligible to be tagged for the rest of their career.
Progression
- Players progress till 28 and decline after 32
- Players retire at age 40 if not signed to contract.
- Players between age 36-39 with a Rank below 10 will be retired if not signed to contract
-Once a player is retired from the this league they can not come back.
Draft- there are 3 rounds
- Player pool will consist of next seasons rookie class (e.g. 1999 rookie class will be imported after 1998 season)
- After 2021/2022 we will create fictional players
-Based on the number of teams, we will have a slow draft
- If you don't pre-rank or attend the draft you will be auto picked
-Draft order is based on previous seasons regular season record with ties broken by H2H record and Total Runs (Runs Scored-Runs Allowed) if teams are tied after H2H. World Series Champion picks last regardless of record.
Inactivity
- If an owner isn't active on the site for 5 days, the commissioner will reach out to them. If they don't respond or log in within 48 of that, they will be removed from the league
- If an owner hasn't been active for 7 days leading up to clearing of rosters in the offseason, they will be removed in order to allow a new owner to take over at the beginning of the season.
