Brooklyn Dodgers - 2077 World Series Champion

In a rematch of the 2076 World Series, the Brooklyn Dodgers defeated the Anaheim Angels 4 games to 2 to win the 2077 World Series, repeating as World Champions.
JR Richard took the victory for the Dodgers in Game 1, holding the Angels to 3 hits in a complete game shutout. Tony Gwynn opened the scoring with a solo homer in the 1st, and Jeff Bagwell hit a 2 run homer in the 6th leading the Dodgers to a 7-0 win.
The Angels offense exploded for 9 runs on 14 hits in route to a 9-4 Game 2 victory. The Angels scored 4 in the 2nd, Jason Giambi and Darin Erstad each hit 2 run homers in the 2nd inning and Sammy Sosa hit a 2 run homer in the 6th to give the Angels a 7-0 lead. The Dodgers narrowed the lead to 7-3 in the 7th, but the Angels held on for a 9-4 victory.
Greg Maddux and Lance McCullers faced off in Game 3 and battled to a 3-3 tie through 9. The Angels scored first on Erstad’s RBI single. In the 4th, Bagwell hit a RBI double and Votto followed with a RBI single to give the Dodgers the lead 2-1. In the Bottom of the 4th, the Angels tied it at 2 with Giambi’s RBI single. The teams traded runs in the 5th. Bautista’s RBI single for the Dodgers and Altuve’s solo homer for the Angels kept the score tied 3-3 where it remained until the 9th. The Dodgers broke the tie, scoring 5 runs; Gwynn’s RBI single started the scoring and Bagwell hit a 3 run homer followed by Votto’s solo homer giving the Dodgers the victory 8-3.
The Angels evened the Series in Game 4. The Dodgers opened the scoring with a 2 run homer by Ron Hassey in the 2nd and Thome’s solo homer in the 3rd. The Angels tied the game in the bottom of the 3rd, 3-3 on Justin Turner’s 3 run homer. The Dodgers took a 4-3 lead in the 4th on Bautista’s RBI single, but it was short lived. The Angels took a 5-4 lead in the 5th on Sosa and Meluskey’s solo Home Runs. Erstad hit a solo homer in the 6th. The Angels added 3 in the 8th to defeat the Dodgers 9-5.
In Game 5, JR Richard pitched another complete game victory, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits. The Dodgers opened the scoring in the 2nd on Bagwell’s RBI double and Hassey’s 2 run homer. The Angels narrowed the Dodgers’ lead to 4-3 with Giambi’s 4th inning 2 RBI double. The Dodgers extended the lead in the 7th with Wilfong and Gwynn’s back to back RBI doubles. Bautista hit a 2 run Home Run in the 8th giving the Dodgers a 3-2 Series lead with the 9-4 victory.
Kyle Hendricks brought the Championship to Los Angeles in Game 6 with a complete game victory, holding the Angels to 1 run on 4 hits. The Dodgers took control of the game early, scoring 6 runs in the 2nd inning. Votto hit a RBI double to open the scoring, Hassey followed with a 2 run Double followed by Johnstone’s 2 run double. The Dodgers cruised to a 8-1 victory.
Jay Johnstone led the hitting for the Dodgers batting .364 with 6 doubles, but the MVP goes to Jeff Bagwell batting .333 with a 1.778 OPS, 4 doubles, 2 Home Runs and 8 RBI.
Darin Erstad led the Angels in hitting batting .400 with a 1.240 OPS, 2 Home Runs and 4 RBI.

Brooklyn Dodgers - 2076 World Series Champion

The Brooklyn Dodgers won the 2076 World Series, defeating the Anaheim Angels 4 games to 3.
The Dodgers opened the Series with a dominant win in Game 1. Jeff Bagwell went 4 for 4 with a double, triple, 2 home runs and 5 RBI. Bagwell was a single away from hitting for the Cycle. The Dodgers opened the scoring in the 1st on a 2 run homer by Bagwell in route to a 9-3 victory.
The Dodgers Kyle Hendricks got the win in Game 2 holding the Angels to 2 runs on 4 hits. The Dodgers took held an early 3-2 lead on Jose Bautista’s 2 run homer in the 2nd. They added 2 runs in the 6th on Bautista’s RBI double to take a 5-2 lead. Jeff Reed’s pinch hit solo homer in the 8th narrowed the lead and Len Randle’s RBI double in the 9th started a rally that fell one run short. Dodgers 5, Angels 4.
The Angels got their first win in Game 3 behind Chris Young who allowed 2 runs on 7 hits. Denny Walling opened the scoring for the Angels with a solo homer in the 1st and added a RBI double in the 3rd to build a 4-1 lead which was all Young needed to give the Angels the victory 4-2.
The Dodgers took a 3-1 Series with a Game 4 victory. JR Richard pitched a complete game, holding the Angels to 2 runs on 5 hits. The Dodgers scored 5 runs in the 3rd led by Tony Gwynn’s 3 run homer. Joey Votto added a solo homer in the 8th, giving the Dodgers the victory 7-2.
The Angels’ offense came to life in Game 5 and Zack Wheeler got the win in a complete game, holding the Dodgers to 2 runs on 9 hits. Bagwell opened the scoring for the Dodgers in the 1st with a 2 run homer, which is all they would score. Darin Erstad narrowed the lead with a solo homer in the 1st. Walling tied the game with a RBI double in the 2nd. Leading 3-2, the Angels scored 3 in the 7th on Sammy Sosa’s 2 RBI single and added 3 in the 8th on Walling’s 2 run homer. The Angels won 9-2.
In Game 6, the Angels took an early 4-0 lead, scoring 3 in the 3rd on Walling’s RBI double and Mitch Meluskey’s 2 run homer. The Dodgers rallied to take a 5-4 lead. Votto’s 5th inning solo homer and 6th inning 2 run homer put them in front. The Angels responded scoring 3 runs in the top of the 7th. Jose Peraza’s solo homer and Sosa’s 2 run homer gave the Angels a 7-5 lead. The Dodgers rally fell 1 run short sending the Series to Game 7.
The Dodgers didn’t want to let a 3-1 Series lead slip away in Game 7. Lance McCullers went the distance, holding the Angels to 3 runs on 4 hits. The Dodgers opened the scoring in the 1st on Bagwell’s 2 run homer. Jim Thome hit a solo homer in the 3rd and the Dodgers took a 3-0 lead into the 7th, and Bagwell capped the 5 run inning with a 3 run homer to give the Dodgers a 8-0 lead which the Angels could not come back from. The Dodgers won the World Championship with a 9-3 win.
Jeff Bagwell was the Series MVP batting .345 with a 1.724 OPS, 1 double, 1 triple, 6 home runs and 14 RBI.
Denny Walling led the Angels on offense batting .455 with a 1.409 OPS, 3 doubles, 1 home run and 5 RBI.

Durham Bulls - 2075 World Series Champion

The Durham Bulls were down 2 games to none to the Richmond Knuckleballers and swept the next 4 games to win the 2075 World Series 4 games to 2.
The Knuckleballers’ Blake Snell and the Bulls’ Josh Beckett squared off in Game 1. Snell came out on top allowing 1 run on 6 hits. With the score tied at 1 in the 7th, Ellis Burks broke the tie with a solo homer to give the Knuckleballers the victory, 2-1.
The Knuckleballers took a 1st inning lead in Game 2 on Fred Lynn’s 2 run homer. Ron Blomberg narrowed the lead in the 2nd with a solo homer. Chad Kreuter’s 3 run homer in the 4th extended the Knuckleballers lead to 5-1. The Bulls tied the game 5-5 in the 6th. Tim Naehring hit a 2 run homer and Willie Randolph hit a 2 run double. Blomberg’s 2nd homer of the game put the Bulls ahead 6-5 in the 8th. In the top of the 9th, Steve Pearce hit a pinch hit 2 run double to give the Knuckleballers the victory 7-6.
Jeff Weaver gave the Bulls their first victory of the Series in Game 3, allowing 1 run on 7 hits. Series MVP Barry Larkin put the Bulls up in the 1st with a solo homer. Miguel Cabrera’s RBI double in the 3rd tied the game 1-1. In the top of the 7th, Rick Wilkins broke the tie with a solo homer and Larkin added a RBI triple to put the Bulls up 3-1. The Knucleballers’ 9th inning rally fell one run short; Bulls victory 3-2.
The Bulls got a comfortable win in Game 4 to even the Series at 2. The Knuckleballers’ Sean Casey hit a 1st inning solo homer to put them up early. The Bulls tied it in the 3rd on Bobby Abreu’s RBI double, and took the lead 3-1 in the 4th on Edmonds’ 2 run homer. The Bulls busted the game open in the 8th on Abreu’s 2 run homer, and scored 5 runs in the 9th, in route to a 10-2 victory.
Game 5 was a great one with the Bulls completing a sweep of the Knuckleballers in Richmond taking a 3-2 Series lead with a 7-5 victory. Beckett got the better of Snell taking the win. The Knuckleballers took the early lead with Casey’s 1st inning solo homer and Vidro’s 2nd inning solo homer. The Bulls took the lead in the 3rd on Randolph’s solo homer and Larkin’s RBI double. Charlie Hayes tied the game with a RBI single in the 4th and Vidro gave the Knuckleballers a 4-3 lead in the 6th with his 2nd homer of the game. The Bulls scored 4 runs in the 7th to take a 7-4 lead on Larkin’s 2 RBI single and the Bulls rally fell short.
The Bulls Sam McDowell took the mound in Game 6, allowing 1 run on 5 hits to bring the World Championship to Durham. Edmonds 2nd inning RBI double and Larkin’s 3rd inning sac fly put the Bulls up 2-0, and McDowell kept in command, giving the Bulls the 3-1 victory.
Barry Larkin was the Series MVP with a .333 Avg, 1.083 OPS, with 6 RBI, 1 double, 1 triple, and 1 home run.
Fred Lynn led the Knuckleballers on offense with a .318 Avg, 1.364 OPS, 1 double and 3 home runs.

New Orleans Pelicans - 2074 World Series Champions

The New Orleans Pelicans swept the New Orleans Zephyrs 4 games to 0 to win the 2074 World Series.
In Game 1, Aaron Civale out dueled Jacob deGrom to give the Pelicans the opening game victory. Civale held the Zephyrs to 1 run on 3 hits, striking out 7. Jeff Bagwell’s 3rd inning RBI single put the Zephyrs on top 1-0, but the Pels responded in the bottom half of the 3rd with a solo homer run by Joey Votto and a RBI by Kal Daniels to give the Pelicans a lead they would not relinquish. Pelicans 3, Zephyrs 1.
Game 2 was a great one. The Pels broke a scoreless tie in the 4th with Tony Olivia’s RBI double and extended the lead to 3-0 on Olivia’s 5th inning RBI. The teams exchanged runs in the 7th, giving the Pels a 5-2 lead. The Zephyrs scored a run in the 8th on Doug DeCinces RBI double, and took the lead 6-5 in the top of the 9th on RBI doubles by Willie Wilson and Bagwell. The Pels tied the score in the bottom of the 9th, 6-6 when Cal Ripken scored on a wild pitch. In the bottom of the 10th, Richie Zisk gave the Pels the win 7-6 with an RBI single.
Oliver Perez took the victory for the Pels in Game 3, holding the Zephyrs to 2 runs on 6 hits. The Pels took an early lead 4-0 with a 2 run homer by Aaron Judge in the 1st and back to back solo homers by LeMahieu and Zisk in the 2nd. Bob Horner narrowed the lead with a 2nd inning Solo homer for the Zephyrs. The Pels held a 4-2 lead into the 9th and Zisk hit his second homer of the game in the 9th to give the Pels a 6-2 victory.
Down 3 games to 0, the Zephyrs fought hard in Game 4 to extend the Series. The Pels scored 1st with a 2 RBI single by Cal Ripken. The Zephyrs tied the game in the bottom of the 4th on Randy Bush’ solo homer, 2-2. Bagwell put the Zephyrs on top 3-2 with a 6th inning solo homer. With 2 outs in the top of the 8th, the Pels scored 3 runs on Ripken’s RBI single and Madlock’s 2 run double. Bob Horner hit a solo homer in the bottom half, but could not complete the rally, and the Pelicans won the Championship 5-4.
DJ LeMahieu took the MVP award for the Pelicans with a .600 Avg, 1.933 OPS, 3 Doubles, 1 Home Run and 2 RBI.
Troy Tulowitzki led the Zephyrs on offense with a .500 Avg, 1.643 OPS, 4 doubles and 3 RBI

Bay City Black Stars - 2073 World Series Champions

The Bay City Black Stars won the 2073 World Series 4 games to 3 over the New Orleans Zephyrs. Down 3 games to 1, the Black Stars swept the last three games to win the Championship. It was a great Series with 3 of the first 4 games went extra innings.
In Game 1, the Black Hawks were holding a 1-0 lead into the 4th. The Zephyrs scored 7 runs in top half of the inning; Jeff Bagwell, Sammy Sosa, Bob Horner, Jorge Posada and Willie Wilson all hit doubles in the inning. The Black Stars responded in the bottom of the 4th with 5 runs, led by a 2 RBI double by Josh Hamilton. Zephyrs led 7-6. The Zephyrs added a run in the 6th and the Black Stars tied the game in the bottom of the 7th on solo Homers by Bryce Harper and Freddie Freeman. In the top of the 11th, the Zephyrs scored 3 runs, on Sosa’s RBI double followed by Randy Bush’s 2 run Homer giving the Zephyrs the victory 11-8.
The Zephyrs took the early lead in Game 2 scoring 3 in the 1st on RBI singles by Sosa and Horner and a RBI triple by Bush. The Black Stars scored a run in each of the first 3 innings to tie the game at 3-3, led by a solo homer by Ron Santo in the 2nd. The teams traded runs in the 5th, and the game went into extra innings tied at 4-4. Bagwell’s RBI single in the top of the 10th broke the tie, and gave the Zephyrs a 5-4 victory and a 2-0 Series lead.
Tony Gonsolin gave the Black Hawks their first win of the Series in Game 3 with a complete game 3 hitter. Harper put the Black Stars on the board with a 2nd inning solo homer and added an RBI single in the 6th. Black Hawks 6, Zephyrs 1.
Game 4 was the 3rd game of the Series to go to extra innngs. The Black Stars built a 3-0 lead, scoring in the 1st on a RBI by Harper, in the 2nd on a RBI double by Santo and in the 6th on a RBI double by Devin Mesoraco. Jeff Bagwell tied the game for the Zephyrs in the bottom of the 6th with a 3 run homer. 8 innings went by with the game tied a 3-3. In the bottom of the 14th, Mark Teahen and Posada hit back to back doubles, giving the Zephyrs the victory 4-3 and a 3 games to 1 Series lead.
The Black Stars opened the scoring in Game 5 with a 2 run homer in the 2nd by Mesoraco. The Zephyrs narrowed the lead with a solo homer by Sosa in the bottom of the 2nd. Hamilton’s RBI single extended the Black Stars lead in the top of the 3rd and the Zephyrs tied the game at 3-3 in the bottom half on Gordon’s RBI single and a wild pitch. In the 5th the Black Stars scored 3 on Hamilton’s RBI double and Harper’s 2 RBI home run. The Black Stars shut the Zephyrs down the rest of the way in route to a 6-4 victory.
The Black Stars won Games 6 & 7 to take the Series. I do not have the game results to complete the recap.
Bryce Harper won the Series MVP with a .421 Avg, 1.737 OPS, 3 HR and 8 RBI
