What is the "average" difference in batting average depending on whether a LH hitter is facing a RHP or LHP.

unless somebody out there has kept every stat for every league ever on here , no one knows. what i can tell you is that if you go to the compiled stats page you can move the cursor down individual batters avg column and it will show you the splits. same with pitchers in the whip h/9 ,b b/9 , k/9 columns . Of course you will get 20 posts now that will claim that they know the exact number is the square of the cosign of pi times the sign of the arctangent minus the radius plus the difference of the square of the 3rd prime number on alternate tuesdays in months ending in y . for the most part just figure its like real baseball lefty pitchers will do a little better vs lefties than they will against righties and vice versa. but with ballpark factors , fire ratings , pitches thrown etc nobody knows for sure. there are a lot of players who claim to know the secret formula but one stat i can tell you is that 0 % on this site have won every league they have ever been in.
Thanks for the detailed response! I now await 20 replies with their guesses. Think I may overestimate the splits when drafting.
This game is just like real baseball , with the great players it wont matter that much. however it is a good idea to have options unleess you have your park set a certain way. If you really want to get better , try out a custom league. The problem with auto leagues is that there are often 2 or 3 of the same franchise and limited strategies as opposed to long term manangement. either way, this site is a baseball fans dream
It’s about three percent either way if I recall. It’s not a major impact but can obviously help break a tie between two close players.
I think in real baseball right handed batters hit left hand pitchers better thin lefties hit right handed pitchers just always thought that i could be wrong i dont know the stats. its hard to get good left handed pitching so sometimes there is lefties in the majors that dont belong. now days there are a lot more pitchers so teams go deep into there minors for left handed pithing
That's exactly what i said in my first post . lefty pitchers will do better against lefty batters than they will against righties. And vice versa , thats what gbacci has worked into the game
