Defensive Subs

Defensive Subs

Just a minor suggestion. Now that we have a dRanking for everyone, I wonder if defensive substitutions should be based on that number. I noticed a substitution today that wasn't egregious, but somewhat questionable. Player A entered for Player B...
Player A: dRk22/.989/-.75
Player B: dRk42/.986/+.1
So I have to assume that if it strictly goes by Fld%, Player B still would have been removed if he was dRk75/.988/+2.5. I understand if he was that good, I wouldn't allow him to be pulled, but I'm exaggerating to make my point. Just a thought.

Re: Defensive Subs

Defensive subs are based on whether you have the player listed as someone who can be replaced by a defensive sub. It also depends on whether you have the starter set as someone who can be pinch hit for. So a weaker defensive player will potentially replace a better defensive player if you have that player set as someone who could be hit for. I hope that helps.

Re: Defensive Subs

Currently, I believe if you have it set to sub, it considers a sub "better" if the sub has higher dWAR or FLD%. (theoretically, that means certain players can sub for each other if given the opportunity)

Knowing that someone will sub for someone else, you can set your preferences that way. I probably wouldn't want it to be based off defensive rank, as I may consider Defender A better than Defender B even though the latter has a higher defensive rank.

Re: Re: Defensive Subs

Can’t you just set the bench player to where they aren’t allowed to be a defensive sub?

Re: Defensive Subs

Pretty much what everyone else said. You get to decide who can sub in and who for. If the sub does anything better it assumes that’s why you set it that way.
