Welcome to MLB Classic Rewind

Story Photo
The Twins' Scott Baker looking happy after taking home the 2013 Rewind WS MVP award
Welcome to MLB Classic Rewind: 2014
A rather straight forward historical league using real progression. The league started with the 1973 season and 24 teams. We'll stay at 24 teams, meaning that the Blue Jays and Mariners won't exist. Neither will the Rockies, D'Backs, Rays, or Marlins. All players who became rookies with those teams will instead go into the draft and be drafted by other teams. For example, Ichiro joined the league in the 2001 season and was drafted by the Phillies.

We are now in our 42nd season. Cincinnati won the first two championships, while the Minnesota Twins won the latest, in the 2013 season.

Here's a list of our Classic Rewind World Series winners so far, with number of WS titles in brackets:

Cincinnati Reds - 5
Boston Red Sox - 5
Minnesota Twins - 5
Pittsburgh Pirates - 3
Cleveland Indians - 3
Milwaukee Brewers - 3
Los Angeles Dodgers - 3
Texas Rangers - 3
Baltimore Orioles - 2
New York Mets - 2
Atlanta Braves - 2
Detroit Tigers - 1
St. Louis Cardinals - 1
San Francisco Giants - 1
Montreal Expos - 1
Kansas City Royals - 1

2b/dh Ozzie Albies should be considered for ROY
he was second in batting with a 312 average in the NL
hit 16 triples and 31 doubles
if he had been on a solid team he would have had solid numbers to be on the list
instead he was on a team were no one had 70 rbis!
