1979 Season

Richard Fans 15 !!!
For the first time in 3 Seasons, a team not from Pittsburgh are the champs. The Detroit Tigers took down the Pirates 4 Games to 3 in a Game 7 1-0 thriller. Mark Fidrych capped off his CY Young Season by winning that game, baffling the Pirates all night. Who will be this year's champions? Could it be a team from North of the border that cruised to the NL East crown only to be ousted in the first round by their bugaboo, the SF Giants? Or maybe Atlanta, who made huge strides last season, winning the NL West under 1st year owner Sheik? What about the job Sal did, moving from Cincy out west to lead the As to the playoffs in his first season by the bay? We have new owners on the south side of Chicago, in Cleveland, in Cincinnati and in Texas. Texas won 85 games last year, Cleveland is just 2 years removed from a World Series and Chicago's new owner has turned around a few teams quickly from other leagues I've been apart of. Cincinnati's new owner is a seasoned vet who has many WS rings and could be the biggest acquisition the Reds had this offseason. All these questions will be answered soon enough...

** TRADE COMMITTEE **

Hendrick Blasts 3 HRs !!!
MLB Classic Rewind now has a 3-person trade committee, that will oversee every trade made in the league. I would like to thank the following owners for agreeing to be members of the Committee:

Chairman: GusPC13
Member: littlepadre

Carlton Throws a No-No !!!
Welcome to MLB Classic Rewind:1979
A rather straight forward historical league using real progression. In order to help deal with inevitable player shortages, the league will stay at 24 teams and not expand. So jump in, grab a franchise and see if you have what it takes to lead your team to the World Series.
