League Rules

SIM SCHEDULE: This league will mostly be run by user-sim, with the game timer set at 6 hours. The commissioner may jump in and speed things up a few times per day when possible.

OWNERS: Please remain active in the league. Owners who have not signed on for weeks or do not keep their rosters up/current will be booted from the league. Example - If you don't utilize Slump Buster when someone is capable for weeks, you are obviously not an active owner...

DAYS OFF: One day off before playoffs begin. One day off between each playoff round. If one team finishes a series quicker, they will be given the extra days off. All post-season series are best-of-seven with a day off after games 2 & 5.

PITCHING ROTATION: 5 Man Rotation during the regular season. 4 Man Rotation can be used during the playoffs.

POST-SEASON: Division winners and two wild cards in each league will reach the playoffs. Division winners to play wild cards. Seeding (between 1-2, 3-4) will be based on record, so the best record will play the worst record in the first round. Each series is 2-3-2 format. Team with the most wins will host the WS.

TIEBREAKERS: Ties for division champs or wild cards will result in a one-game playoff. Ties for seeding will be broken based on head-to-head games, then power ranking.

TRADING: If you trade for a player under contract, you inherit the contract. An owner that owns two teams is prohibited from trading between his/her two teams.

TRADE & FREE AGENT DEADLINE: Trades will turn on before Game 1. Teams will be limited to 10 trades per season. Trades must benefit both teams and can be overturned if deemed lopsided. Game 140 will be the trade/free agent deadline for the season. Waivers based on team strength will be used until game #25. From game #26, waiver order will be based on standings.

CONTRACTS: You can sign up to 20 contracts for the following season at any time during the current season. At the end of the season, any players not signed will become free agents.

EXPIRING CONTRACTS: You can resign players at the end of their contract. When a player's contract expires, he must either be resigned before the end of the current season or he will become a free agent (or retire) and return to the draft.

PLAYER PROGRESSION: After each season, players will age and stats will change slightly. Players improve until age 28 and begin to decline at age 32.

RETIREMENT: Players will retire at age 40 unless signed. Beware the league will lose any unsigned players 40 and older after each season. Other FA's will retire as well - such as (BA<.220 or WHIP>1.75...). Rookies will be added to replace retired players.

NEW SEASON: After the World Series, there will be a grace period for teams to finalize contracts. Then contracts will be advanced and a new Auto Draft will be open. Any owner who does not draft will be booted.

ROOKIES: Players from MLB history will be added to the rookie pool if needed. Some fictional players may be created as well. The number of rookies added will depend on how many players retired.

AUTO DRAFT: After the season ends, each team will Auto Draft to fill out their rosters. This usually does not yield good players, but is good for defense and utility players to get your team up to 23 and able to start the season. Many can and will be dropped once the FA market is opened after game 4 early in the season (drops will be allowed after game 5).

SUPPLEMENTAL DRAFT: After contracts are signed, each team will auto draft to fill roster to 23 - then get three supplemental picks based on the free agents available. Worst record picks first, with the World Champs picking last.

FILLING OUT ROSTERS: Once the season starts there will be a 2nd Supplemental Draft after game 3 (similar to auto leagues).

FREE AGENTS: After game 4 free agency will open so everyone can fill out their minor league roster and drop sub-par players (drops will be allowed after game 5).

All-stars will be chosen by CPU after game 90.

Player Boosts (START OF LIST)
---
Boosts will become available for AL teams during odd seasons and NL during even seasons. A boost is only allowed one time in a player's career.

DEFENSIVE BOOST:
Errors will be cut in half. (No player can improve to a 1.000 FLD%) and the player will get a + 1.00 dWar boost. Max dWar is 3.00.

ENDURANCE BOOST:
The player will have a 20% games played boost or Stamina boost. RP max END is 60. SP max END is 130.

SPEED BOOST:
Players will be given a 1 point speed increase. However, No player can exceed a speed factor of 10.

OFFENSIVE STRIKE OUT BOOST:
Batters Strike Outs will be reduced by 25%.

POSITION CHANGE (BOOST):
If the player played 80 MLB games at the position, he can be converted to the position.
If a pitcher is 32yrs or older, he can convert to a SP or a RP. They must have started at least 40 games in the MLB to convert to a SP. RP's converting to SP will have their current ratings combined with their career average to create ratings as a starter. Their END as a RP will be added to 60 to create a new rating for Endurance. SPs converting to RPs will have a 10% improvement at H9, BB9 and K9.

CLOSER BOOST:
The player's On-Fire rating will be boosted to match his highest career totals in Saves or the highest amount of Saves generated during sims. His h/9 and k/9 will be maxed out to match his best career season.

Some leagues use fictional player progression. To learn more about how players progress, check the Player Potential page.
