League Rules

LEAGUE RULES

1. All players in this database have had their ratings adjusted to their peak career statistics. Some of those players have been edited to eliminate any outliers. This is to increase competition in the league.

2. Every team starts with 7 Permanent Players. These are players that spent a part (or all) of their career with your franchise and played in the 1970s-Present. You can make changes to your 7 players but they will not go on your team until the following offseason. For hitters, I will use YRS,GP or ABs to determine tie-breakers between two franchises. For pitchers, I will use YRS, GP or IPs to determine tie-breakers. THESE PLAYERS CANNOT BE TRADED! If you Drop or Trade a permanent player, he will be placed back on your roster with a Salary Penalty of $20. The Penalty will reduce by $5 every season.

3. The following franchises have been merged and players from either can count towards your 7 Permanent Players. Blue Jays/Rangers, Mariners/Royals, Diamondbacks/Padres and Rockies/Reds.

4. Each team has $175 to sign up to 21 addition players. You do not need to sign players tagged as "No Trade Perm Players." They will stay on your roster without a contract.

5. We will have a 2 Round Slow Draft based on last season's order of finish.

6. Following the Slow Draft, we will hold the Auto Draft to get rosters back to 23.

7. There will be a 5 round Supplemental Draft after Game 5.

8. Free Agency opens after Game 6.

9. Slump Buster has a limit of 60 days.

10. Injuries can be as long as 24 days. (60 days when there were 30 teams)

11. Each team is limited to 9 trades per season. Again, you cannot trade your "Perm Players."

12. Trades will be shut down after Game 130.

13. Free Agency will be shut down at the end of the Regular Season.

14. You CAN challenge trades. You must do it openly through the chatbox (transparency). You can send me a message if you feel like I did not notice the challenge. I will post a poll and wait on at least 10 votes. The majority rules.

END OF RULES!!!

LEAGUE SETUP INFO
------------------

1. SIM SCHEDULE: Mostly run by user-sim 3-4 sims per day. 162 game schedule (2 and 3 game series). I might sim some games while I am online. It depends on how much time I get. Just keep up with your lineup bc the season will fly by before you know it.

2. TIEBREAKERS: One game playoff will be used for Division Championship and Wild Card Winners.

3. TRADING: If you trade for a player under contract, you inherit the contract. Trades will be monitored. Limited to 9 trades per season. You cannot trade "Perm Players."

4. CONTRACTS: 3 yr contracts and players will demand raises. Players won't ReSign.

5. TEAM SALARIES: $175 <--Subject to change

6. AWARDS:
----------------
MVP AL (Auto)
MVP NL (Auto)
Cy Young AL (Auto)
Cy Young NL (Auto)
World Series MVP (Commish Choice)

7. ROSTER SIZE: We will carry 30 players per team, 5 minor league spots equaling 35 total players. I have limited QPOS for players because I am tired of seeing good players out of position. Managers in this league will have to play their players at their normal positions to be successful. The extra players should help you just in case someone gets injured. Injuries can reach up to 24 games (See Rule #10). If you get in a jam because of injuries, I suggest you drop someone.

8. UNOWNED TEAMS: After the auto draft, any unowned team will be filled with players that meet that Franchise's Designation.

9. I will remove or move managers that do not appear active. If you keep a qualified lineup, rotation and sign players, you will be fine.

Thanks!

PLAYER EDITING "THE EXTRA NERDY STUFF!"
---------------------------------------
It will be my goal to keep this league as realistic and competitive as possible. All player ratings will fall between a specific range to eliminate any outliers. Since we don't have player progression, this should increase the chance of having more diversity w/ our MVP's and our Cy Young award winners. Minimizing the length of contracts & the size of rosters should also contribute to parity in the league. I will be editing players along the way. You may notice players' POSITION eligibility changing to better reflect the player.
