PED's ??

PED's ??

I realize this is a baseball/basketball site , but gbacci has talked about one day maybe having a hockey game after the football game. That being said here is my ? to anybody who has ever watched hockey. I've seen for years hockey players sniffing amyl nitrate tablets, otherwise known as smeling salts before shifts after shifts etc. These are supposed to be used to wake up people who have been knocked out, yet they use them to get a boost. how is this not considered performance enhancers. would appreciate serious responses only. It's hockeys dirty little secret.

Re: PED's ??

Not saying it makes it right, but didn't the MLB owners make a boatload of money off of the 1998 HR race? To be honest, if the select group of people who sounded the alarms hadn't done so and therefore didn't bring the extreme PED use in baseball to light, it probably would've been baseball's dirty little secret as well. Again, not saying it makes it right, just simply pointing out that NHL is far from the only culprit

Re: Re: PED's ??

I guess since it’s not on the banned substances list then it’s not illegal. Whether it should be banned is another question. I’m not a medical guy so I wouldn’t know anything about that. I wouldn’t say it’s a dirty little secret though since they regularly Zoom the cameras in on guys smelling them. Lol
Can you imagine if MLB players had been shooting up right in the dugout with the cameras recording the injections right in the middle of the game? Hockey’s not very subtle. 😂

Re: PED's ??

Your right , in a league that allows you to physically assault someone and all you get is 5 minutes , it's probably low on the list of priorities.
