Newbie Questions

I am in a auto league with 4 keepers. The "potential" is set for "C" classic progression. I can't find it listed how these players age. I'm assuming after each season the players get older and either experience positive or negative progression depending upon their age (I also assume hitters and pitchers age differently). Just wondering what the age of the player where positive progression stops & negative begins for hitters and for pitchers. Thanks in advance!

I'm also assuming that only our keepers "age" and any non kept players just go back into the possible player pool for redrafting

Re: Newbie Questions

Ignore - progression does not apply to Auto Leagues.

Re: Newbie Questions

As Sheik says, all Auto League players keep same stats year to year. No progression in Auto Leagues, for any players.

Keepers, non-keepers, great players, average players... all keep their same Real Stats season-to-season. Players will have different Compiled Stats each season (as the games are played), but the next season, same Real Stats again.

Progressions only happen in (most) Custom Leagues.

I have a couple additional questions. I've asked on my league message board but have received no replies. Thanks in advance!

It's Auto League 71 All-Time Greats with the standard 4 keepers on contracts. I currently have no players under contract for a future season (as I'm brand new ownership).

Sometime during the season I will decide on 1 to 4 players to offer a keeper contract to ($50 mil value total or under). However, how do contracts work? Is it?:

1. Just a 1 yr keeper contract for next season & then next season, if desired, I could sign the same player(s) to another 1 yr keeper contract (and so on...) & by doing it this way always have the option to keep bringing the same guy back if desired but ALSO allowing myself an out each season if I get my hands on a better player to keep in a future season instead.

2. Is it possible (I am almost certain it is) to sign a player to a multi year contract? This obviously would be the best way to go on a player that is ELITE as then you have him for longer (this is, of course, assuming that players after contracts end MUST be allowed to go back into free agency.

Basically, I want to fully understand how this works prior to starting the decision making process.

Re: Newbie Questions

You can sign them to only 1 or 2 year deal, which technically will be current season plus another 1-2 years. After that contract they go back in the pool, no re-signing unless you happen to draft them again.
