Pyth record
Pyth record
Not completely sure if there is an answer for this, but my pyth record is consistently above my actual record. I only play automated baseball leagues. I see teams that have the opposite, but my team is either even or lower. Is there a reason for this? A way I’m building my teams that may cause this?
Re: Pyth record
Pyth record (full term is Pythagorean record) is a real life baseball stat used for teams that is determined by a calculation involving runs scored and runs allowed. So if you're constantly seeing that it's just unluckiness
The full definition, according to a quick Google search, is:
A Pythagorean record in baseball is an estimate of how many games a team should have won based on how many runs they scored and allowed. The formula is based on the Pythagorean theorem

Re: Pyth record
It indicates that you're winning closer games and losing more lopsided ones, on average. One thing that can contribute to the latter is the use of the back end of the bullpen in "garbage time" situations when already way behind. Although there's certainly a "luck" component to this, I see teams and GMs that seem to consistently overperform or underperform their Pythagorean projections.
