Re: mets
This is the most legit mad i've ever been as a sports fan. The Dolans are the worst owners in all of sports. Talk about a middle finger to the fans basically salary dumping 2 of your best players and fan favorites for a garbage haul like that. Good riddance.
Re: Re: mets
Sucks for Indians fans for sure. I told you all the Mets had a chance to be a top five club this year. depending on what happened in the offseason. NL East just got a lot tougher... Sucks for my Braves.
Re: Re: mets
just like the stanton trade i knew he wasnt gonna hit more than 40 homers the next year but instead bye go two of our best prospects
could have only needed to trade one for yelich
cuz he coulda made the yanks a champ at least last year
Re: mets
the indians ( are they still that) are just pretty much trying to go 0-80
Re: Re: mets
i don't think yankee fans realize how good the players they have are. all Yankees fans do is whine and complain that they only have 27 rings
Re: mets
no not all of us we want to win one this decade tho
Re: Re: mets
most teams go 30 years without getting a ring lmao. your just further proving my point dude. Yankees fans have always been spoiled and now they are getting a taste of what its like to play in a competitive division. the rays have never been good before, now they are. the blue jays have never been good before, and now they are a top 10 team in the MLB. the Orioles are getting there very quickly. the Red Sox are also getting back into shape once they get their 2 best pitchers back and acquire some bullpen help, they'll be in the middle of the pack. That being said, I don't think the Yankees are a bad team. They are still top 3 in baseball, but their downfall is coming soon. very very soon.
Re: mets
they virtually have no prospects
Re: Re: mets
This isn't new info to anyone, just look at the knicks
Re: Re: mets
theyll last for 5 years before trading all their good players for prospects and then sucking for 3-5 years and then being good again
thats what happens
Re: mets
I feel sorry for Lindor......
Re: Re: mets
why he wanted out of there anyway
Re: mets
The Rays are on a downfall losing Snell, they've been good before, look at the early 2010s and late 2000s. The Blue Jays are good but probably wouldn't come close to winning the division, the Orioles and Red Sox are probably further off than you think they are. Aren't all fans hungry to see their team succeed? That's the ultimate goal right? Winning a WS? Who cares how long it's been.
Re: mets
Feel sorry more for Jose Ramirez but the Indians have the pitching still to win ball games and be competitive the AL Central
They won’t go 0-80 for that reason and the fact that a season is 162 games 🙄
Re: Re: mets
For all the people hating on the Indians, they won on this deal. They traded Lindor and an up and down veteran starter and got 2 top prospects, Andres Gimenez, who showed pretty strong flashes of talent last season, and Amed Rosario, who had a down 2020 but a pretty good 2019. This is a huge win for the Indians, they got a lot for a player that if they didn't trade, would simply lose him for nothing next year. As a Mets fan, I hate this trade cause the Mets have plenty of hitting as it is.
Re: Re: mets
it was supposed to be 80 games at one point
Re: mets
carlos carracaso too
this is like the deandre hopkins trade
and the betts trade
Re: Re: mets
The Betts trade actually isnt that bad of a trade, Verdugo has been solid and Jeter Downs is still considered a top prospect.
Re: Re: mets
i think the Red Sox and Orioles are closer than you think. especially the orioles. they have a really good young core of Mountcastle, Santander, Rutschman, Means, etc. all they need now is some good bullpen and a few more decent starters and they have a wildcard spot. The Red Sox seem like they are still trying to be competitive, in talks with Springer, but could definitely be either good or bad this season, but will keep building their farm and will be good in 2 or 3 years. also jw, the Yankees will not be good for 5 more years. In 5 years, they will only have Cole, Stanton, and Hicks from the Core. Severino, Judge, Urshela, Voit, will all be FA. the most I can see them being competitive for is 3 more years. on the bright side, Maybe Judge can go to a different team so he can stay healthy and not be injured because the Yankees training staff is garbage.
Re: mets
i said they would trade good players for prospects and then be good in 5 years
Re: mets
Have you forgotten that the Yankees farm is still stacked? Dominguez and plenty of solid pitching. Frazier will also probably still be there, right there thats a solid core, even if Judge and the other guys leave.
Re: Re: mets
frazier has the ability (if he can imrpove his feilding) to be a top 10 player
and dominguez is supposed to be better than judge
Re: mets
Yoda, the Met's hitting is good, but it can't compete with the Dodgers and Padres and Braves. You have some good pieces like Nimmo, Smith, McNeil, and Conforto, but signing 2 big bats is going to be really good for you guys. not to mention, you already have deGrom, Syndergaard, Stroman, Peterson, and Lugo for that starting 5, that's a top 5 rotation. I will say, they need some bullpen arms, but the offense just needs something, and not to mention, Lindor provides amazing defense while Amed's was just average.
Re: Re: mets
and Deivi García has the ability to be a top 10 pitcher as well
Re: mets
yoda the mets just needed a piece to make them a contender and lindor is that piece
Re: Re: mets
and first rounder austin wells can make in impact in a few years instead if the yankees trading for a catcher who will only stay for 3 years at most
Re: mets
sorry, completely forgot about Dominguez and Frazier. and by the way, Frazier is already really good and isn't as bad a fielder as you think. And Dominguez is only like 17 right? who knows what can happen? he hasn't even played a professional game yet. the kid is too overhyped. he has only faced high school level pitching. The Yankees also only have two good pitching prospects right now in Schmidt and Garcia, and once again, you can't always just bank on prospects being good. so many things can happen to them. poor management, injuries, or they just never can make the hump from minor league to Big league pitching. prospects are uncertainties so you can't always rely on them for the future of your team
Re: Re: mets
some players live up to the hype
and he has the skills to do it
Re: Re: mets
There's a few more guys there, I don't want to start naming lists and stuff, Frazier is a top fielder now, gold glove finalist. Crazy to think about that considering just last year he was a liability!!
Re: Re: mets
I also have a feeling Garcia won't be that good, but I could be wrong there
Re: mets
Jw, you can't say that dude. It's like Tatis. people are already saying he's a top 5 player in baseball, but he hasn't even played a full major league season. not saying that Tatis and Dominguez aren't good, but you just never know. Look at Lonnie Chisenhall, Lewis Brinson, Rusney Castillo, and so many more. everyone thought had the "tools" to be good, and they just turned out to be below average back ups
Re: mets
Definitely agree Mets needed a piece to contend, but that piece didn't need to be Lindor - the Mets led the league in team BA last year at .272, 2nd in OBP at .348, and 4th in SLG with .459. Their biggest problem last year - 445 players LOB, worst in the league, That was the problem with their hitting.
What the Mets really need is some starting pitching. Yes, deGrom's a star. Stroman could be hit or miss after missing the year, and Syndergaard as well. Carrasco might be good, he had a solid 2019. Lugo was good as a starter for a few starts, then went downhill. Mets hitting like McNeil, Smith, Conforto, Nimmo, (as of last year) Gimenez, are all good pieces. I'm not saying they didn't need hitting, but pitching should be more a priority.
Re: Re: mets
Mets just received two tremendous TEAMMATES! Lindor and Carrasco were beloved by their teammates. Lindor will sign at least a 5 year deal and Carrasco is already on a team friendly contract. The Mets clearly won this deal for the next 3-5 years.
The Indians received two prospects that we will not know anything about until 2024. The other two middle infielders do not really help. The Indians needed a young OF bat (like Nimmo or Smith) back to better justify this deal.
Things are so bad that two of their top 3 salaries for this year belong to catchers!!! The Dolans need to sell this team. What a travesty.
Re: mets
the indians are going to be the marlins of 2020-2022
Re: Re: mets
how did the marlins of 2022 do ? were they good, did they make the playoffs ? just want to know so i can make a bet
Re: mets
i mean the indians from 2020-2022 will be as bad as the marlins from 2018-2019
Re: Re: mets
yea, that was obvious bubbles
Re: mets
It was also obvious bubbles was joking...
Re: Re: mets
That was no JOKE!!! Remember you can always BET AGAINST them!! LOL
Re: Re: mets
but obviously, laser, the joke didn't make any sense!
Re: mets
Nah, it's just obvious the joke went over your head. Which is for the best, since you're too young be gambling lol
Re: Re: mets
no it didn't make sense. I got what he was trying to do. He was trying to say that he was going to place a bet on the 2022 Marlins because he thinks Jw meant that he knew how the 2022 Marlins were going to do. So no, it didn't go over my head, but the joke just made no sense because the context in which Jw was saying that was that the Indians would be as bad as the Marlins in 2022. so maybe the statement went over YOUR head. Thanks!
Re: mets
Got it, my bad. I'm half paying attention to the boards honestly because they mostly make no sense nowadays.
Speaking of, didn't you say you were leaving the site just a week ago, and wanted Guy to delete your account?
Re: Re: mets
yeah, i know. I am, But im staying in a couple of custom leagues that I am in right now. doesn't mean I can't be active on the boards though.
Re: mets
Kinda tough t have a foot print removed when you're still standing in the grass, no?
