In the football leagues I would like to cut my defense during the season and pick up another, but can’t.
All other positions I cut and replace during the year.

Hi @Maulucci16 currently Auto Leagues don't support the dropping and signing of entire team defenses, so you have to stick with who you drafted on defense for the duration of the season.
