Help

Hi all, relatively new. Need to sign players in a keeper league for the 1st time. How does their performance change year to year? Do the stay with their current stats and rank? Do they take on their actual year after stats? Any advice or help is appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Help

Look at both their league history and comparative league history to see the range of fluctuation you can expect.

Re: Help

Age and Potential are factors. You need to check the rules, but most likely your league will Progress until 28 and Decline from 29 on. Some leagues use REAL player stats year over year, so that is an option as well

Players perform based on their REAL stats ( not SIM stats) but you can look at past seasons to help see how THAT player typically SIMS.

As far as progression,
F players will remain mostly constant year to year. Some pitchers WHIP may ratchet down even though they are F potential
U players can go up or down Each year. They are supposed to be like real life, where you don’t know if the player will get better or not
A players stats will mostly remain constant, but they improve in key areas such as Hits, walks, etc and less across the board improvement. Pitchers will improve stamina and control, and less on K
S players progress the most, in all categories. They also regress much quicker as well
C ( if they are even in your league) are most similar to S players, but as quick. They fall between the S and the A players, but from a contract lens, they also don’t command the $ a S potential will require

Re: Help

He’s only in Auto leagues. They stay the same year after year. Each season it’s based on their same Real Stats.

Re: Re: Help

@Yankee So to follow up, in auto leagues, you're keeping players at the same ability, so age doesn't come into play at all?

Re: Help

Correct. In Auto Leagues, age matters zilch. Any Keepers will be exactly the same stats and age for the next 100 seasons.

Auto Leagues are all completely based on real stats from real players in the history of the MLB, so a 1927 Babe Ruth will have the Babe's 1927 real stats in the game, forever. A GM could decide to switch to the Babe's 1928 (or another year's) real stats for a season, but when the season is over and the league starts again, the Babe will be back to his 1927 real stats.

Some Custom Leagues also use real MLB players, and Custom Leagues (depending on the rules) can run progressions (increasing players' ages, increasing or decreasing their real stats) in off-seasons, for the fun and intrigue of what will happen, but Auto Leagues are same real stats, every season.

Re: Help

Correct, in Auto Leagues players don't age, their stats are what they compiled for each calendar year and remain static season to season, what they actually produce is more random, but generally within a mean
