2021 HOF Ballot

2021 HOF Ballot

Related to the other discussion, drop who you would vote for in 2021:

I would include:

Bonds
Clemens
Schilling
Wagner
Helton
Rolen
Abreu
Jones
Hudson
Buehrle

Personal policy is make your votes count: if Sosa was in his last year, I would consider, but he wouldn't get inducted this year and he's not falling off. Hudson and Buehrle deserve recognition and to avoid being one-and-done.

Re: 2021 HOF Ballot

The list is good, in my humble opinion. If Hudson is on it Schilling should be too.

Re: 2021 HOF Ballot

ok so clemons and bonds can make it but not the all time hits King

Re: Re: 2021 HOF Ballot

My ballot would be:

Wagner
Schilling
Kent
Manny

or none of them and let the veterans committee right some oversights with the missing Negro League Players instead.

Re: 2021 HOF Ballot

when it comes to wagner think about this, he was undersized and he put up amazing numbers in the steroid era. for some reason, other than mario, rp's dont get the respect they deserve

Re: 2021 HOF Ballot

Bonds
Clemens
Schilling
Manny
Sosa
Sheffield
Wagner
Andruw
Rolen
Vizquel

Re: 2021 HOF Ballot

Curt Schilling
Billy Wagner
Andruw Jones - yes I am a Braves fan, but look at the numbers. Dude was the best/most valuable defender in the game for a decade...

I already talked about the steroid guys, Manny could hit like crazy but was one of the worst defenders in the game, and I think the other guys were good, not great. Helton's home/road splits tell his story, even though as a TN boy I was a huge fan of his. He is not a HOF'er

Re: Re: 2021 HOF Ballot

Wagner played when filding % was low but his range was still good

Re: 2021 HOF Ballot

billy wagner was a relief pitcher

Re: Re: 2021 HOF Ballot

Re: 2021 HOF Ballot

Re: Re: 2021 HOF Ballot

The narrative should be mainstream (hopefully within the next few years or so) that playing with Coors Field as your home park actually hurts your stats on the road as much as it helps your stats at home. Because you're seeing a different level of break on pitches at home, you have to recalibrate on the road, and that affects your numbers as well. With his .855 OPS on the road, I feel confident that Helton would be a true .900 OPS hitter.
