Really?

Really?

So I keep deleting guys from my supp draft list and yet they keep getting put back on the list anyway? I look forward to drafting a high 50's or low 60's player ahead of upper 80's guys. Also, 99 players along with other 90 and 80 rated players available in a supp draft? Really? Guys I didn't draft first originally but then were not available for me to draft after that in later rounds and guys that were never on my list at all, unlike every sports draft in history. And now those guys can be had by anybody in the league? I'm not impessed with this game, free or not. My starting SS, a position I ever saw until last pick, is 26 so there are only about 30 players better than him available to everybody after appearing nowhere on my draft list. Ridiculous! Probably why I'm the 2nd worst team in the league according to draft order. Ridiculously insane!

Re: Really?

Should have been "a position I NEVER saw"

Re: Re: Really?

The quick draft is just that -- a "quick" draft. It's imprecise, and it's not the best way to start a league. The reason that the 90s players weren't available to you later in the draft is because the sim staggers the players so the first team to draft doesn't get all the good players. For that reason, the sim also leaves star players for the supplemental draft, in which you nabbed a 98 ranked player.

If you want something that is more balanced and "normal", try a daily draft league.

Re: Really?

Like htennis said, the daily draft allows you basically to draft who you want like a normal draft you are used to. The quick draft gives random options of players in different ranges so, like htennis said, the first person doesn’t get choice of all the best players and so on. There are purposefully lots of good players left in supp draft so the lesser teams can go for them first. It’s a quick draft for people who don’t want to wait out the daily draft. You definitely want the daily draft.

And just in general, like any free or paid game, giving it time and understanding everything it has to offer should come before ranting.

Re: Re: Really?

As usual the people replying are sports know-nothings who insanely love this game because it's free and/or because they have such limited knowledge of actual sports that they defend this insanity with illogical and insane BS if for no other reason than fear this free insane game will be taken away from them should they complain. Those undrafted 80's and 90's players aren't just there for bad teams geniuses. Everybody drafts again in the supp draft, That means a team I saw that already had six 90+ players to my two 90+ players will now have 7 or 8 to my 3 or 4. I'm still going to be a bottom half and no supp draft is going to change that because I was getting an 89 OF Brian Giles to sit on my bench in the original draft while 98 Chris Sale, 99 2B Nap Lajoie and 98 SS Arky Vaughan were going undrafted. You can't defend that so stop trying.

Re: Re: Really?

Right bubbles, guys I delete from my draft list get put back on my draft list because I haven't played here before. If I had played 10 seasons already deleting a player would actually delete him. Genius. What exact kind of opiods are you addicted to?

Re: Re: Really?

Forget replying. I'm done. Last game my 2 worst relievers threw 7 pitches to 2 batters for one out each and were removed so that my worst starter was coming in late because of the burming of those of 2 guys for no good reason so I lose the game and then Saberhagen is also not available to make his scheduled start now. This is a baseball simulation like Harry Potter is a documentary. You opiods addicts enjoy. I'm out.

Re: Really?

I don't know what I'm doing because I'm new, I COULD have asked some questions and maybe gotten advice from seasoned guys, but chose to dive right in, I didn't bother to read the instructions after the draft is complete that tells you to set up your line ups and Bull pen and set team strategy and now I lost so I'm quitting NONE OF THIS IS MY FAULT - and I want my student loan paid off too!

Re: Re: Really?

What advice you veteran you? If I had asked you for your 60 IQ advice an undrafted and 98 rated Chris Sale wouldn't be starting for another team while my best starter is 81 rated Catfish Hunter. Yes, your 60 IQ advice would have changed that insanity because mental midget you thinks Barry Bonds on steroids or Bob Gibson would ever go undrafted. Go back to your addiction of choice and leave baseball talk to the non-addicts with brains.

Re: Re: Really?

And you mental midgets addicts completely ignore guys deleted from my draft list getting put back on the list so you can instead claim Chris Sale going undrafted is just "normal baseball" stuff. Your insane defense is if I had played 10 seasons already this nothing like baseball game would actually delete guys I delete and put Chris Sale in my rotation. Your defense is you think you know what you're doing and I don't when really you're throwing darts at a dartboard while wearing a blindfold. There is no defense of this game and you haven't got the firt clue even if you played a thousand seasons.

Re: Really?

2 replies from addict bubbles with nothing about deleted players not getting deleted because he's 15 years old, an opiods addict, a mental midget and a total sports know-nothing.

Re: Re: Really?

This is actually all true.

"Allow manager to play L/R matchups out of pen (regardless of priority):"

Check your strategy before complaining why certain pitchers are pitching! =)

Re: Really?

Complains Chris Sale went un drafted and that his BEST pitcher is an 81-- But took Arky Vaughn - a real nice player by the way, Ahead of Chris Sale in the supplemental - when he COULD have had Sale

WAAAA WAAA I got terrible pitching, I know, I'll take a SS yeah, that's the ticket!

Re: Re: Really?

He's new and he's a Braves fan so he has got that going against him.

To be fair, he reminds me of me at an earlier age. But then I started kindergarten and had that knocked out of me pretty darn quick.

Re: Really?

YIKES...…....I too am a newbie and drafted 11th which I believe put me at a disadvantage compared to teams that drafted much earlier. My team started out 1-12, however I took it as a challenge and tried my best to make my team more competitive with the supplemental draft and through free agency and strategy. My team started out at 1-12 but has now improved to 17-17. I'm going to keep putting an effort towards getting my team as competitive as possible.

Re: Really?

Hey don't bring lump all Braves fans into this. Just uncalled for...lol

I'm new also and I originally signed up for a daily draft which I think I prefer because you do have more of a "say" on your strategy of building your team and is more like a regular type draft I am sure most new people would be used to.

With that said I couldn't hold down my anticipation of playing so I signed up for 2 quick draft teams and found it odd with some of the choices I was left to pick. But once I calmly realized that the supplemental draft offered upgrades to the positions I felt weak in then it became easy to build my team with better talent.

I would also assume (again I am new) that all those 90+ players that went undrafted and are free agents were just not made available to any owners in the league. So that teams could upgrade their rosters as needed in a more fair waiver like system.

Re: Re: Really?

DGeorgi will probably enjoy this website for years to come. Stopher will be gone in a heartbeat. Just look at the difference in approaches and attitudes of those two responses.

I am trying to understand the exact problem... it sounds like it boils down to Stopher drafting late in the Quick Draft and not getting enough good players.... that is definitely possible... it's well documented on this site (see News or Podcasts or whatever) that I don't like the Quick Draft and it's a tough concept to make fair for everyone. Drafting late in a Quick Draft does make it more of a challenge that you have to embrace as DGeorgi stated.

I think you would definitely enjoy Daily Draft leagues more.

The Supplemental draft does not snake, so you're going to have another crack at a top ranked player. And maybe even a third in the third round.

I am not sure what the issue is around deleting players and them not deleting. I have never experienced this bug, but I have heard it reported before. If this is an issue, just move those lower ranked players lower on your list if they are failing to delete from your list.

The RP issue you mentioned can easily be changed via Team Strategy.

He shouldn't have to refresh the page.

Re: Really?

I only play quick draft. I love it. But you have to learn the game. When I first started playing i lost a lot. Then you study other players that are beating you. Thats what i did. See how and why they beat you. You slowly learn as you play each season. After a while the players that use to beat you, still do but not as much. Keep watching them and try different things. You will get the hang of it. And you will love this game. I promise you that. And remember, its a long season, dont give up on your players.
And buy the way, i have been a Braves fan for 48 years. In the 70,s i never gave up on our organization. And now the Braves have some of the best history in MLB.
