5 man rotation frustrations

5 man rotation frustrations

if you have a option to do a 5 man rotation, why isnt the computer using all 5 starters, just keep using the 4 starters and they are getting burned out

Re: 5 man rotation frustrations

Nobody gets burned out when it’s based on mathematics. If a starter is rested, he starts. No sore arms in a Simulation. If your 5th starter isn’t getting as many starts it’s because of off-days built into the schedule. Your other starters are still getting the rest they need, but if a game is coming up and the Sim has the ability to use someone better than your 5th starter, then why wouldn’t it? Your odds of winning increase if you only use that 5th guy when you absolutely have to, because the other guys are resting.

Re: Re: 5 man rotation frustrations

Isn’t this the same league you asked about before, and it was because you had tons of off days? Looks right now, your 5th starter is finally set to pitch soon.

Re: 5 man rotation frustrations

Op got a lot of feedback, then and now, about how he should be glad to have his better starters pitching. But his initial query was about simulating an MLB situation more realistically. On that topic, I agree with others that the you could schedule fewer days off. With zero days off, you should get a five-man rotation for each team. The other option--also as suggested by others--is to increase the "required rest" setting.

Re: Re: 5 man rotation frustrations

Isn't this what happens in MLB? Most teams don't worry that much about having a 5th SP early on because of - wait for it - days off !! It's completely realistic to not use your rotation 1-5, rinse and repeat.

Re: 5 man rotation frustrations

now i dont use the days off and still, though today it says he is starting lets see

Re: 5 man rotation frustrations

Yes, can see all the number 5s on the schedule for next game, now that you’ve removed the off days.
