Re: dWAR extreme effects.....

Then sort by DWAR, low to high...gah! Minus 7.4?!

What is this league? Where do these numbers come from?

Re: Re: dWAR extreme effects.....

Wait! Custom player totals for commissioners aren't even supposed to be that high!! Gah is right!!!!!!!!!! Lol

Re: dWAR extreme effects.....

???????? What the heck! Check out the real stats for the WHIP league leader! Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Re: dWAR extreme effects.....

And 165 stamina for a pitcher? Thought 140 was the max.

Looks like a Japan Greats League is a hidden gem here on PC. Didn't realize what I was missing!

Re: Re: dWAR extreme effects.....

It's an Auto League based on Japanese Major Leagues baseball. It's pretty telling that the best hitting team in the league is at .224.

Re: dWAR extreme effects.....

I've been in League 145 Japan ATG's for 3 seasons, and have 2 playoff appearances in that span, with a Ring in the first year of the 3.

My team's major stats in that span:
AVG/OPS/Runs/HR/W/L/ERA/WHIP/Runs Allowed

Year 1
.234/.738/735/270/91/71/3.30/1.08/608

Year 2
.232/.724/674/262/71/91/4.26/1.26/728

Year 3
.245/.736/724/227/87./75/3.39/1.15/618
Cy Young Award - Shohei Otani

Pitching in Auto League 145 is pretty good, but NOTHING like Auto League 615. For a comparison, the guy I mentioned before, the Whip leader (Hideo Fujimoto) compare his history between Auto Leagues 145 and 615

145:

615:

Same great pitcher, drastically different historic stats!

Re: Re: dWAR extreme effects.....

Whoa - those were made up to begin with using a formula to estimate the dwar... there needs to be an immediate cap and reduction on dWAR in Japan leagues. I'm sorry this will impact teams mid-season, but it's the only recourse I have at the moment.

Re: dWAR extreme effects.....

I'm in league 615, Japanese ATG. I love that it is something really different than the other leagues. It creates a whole new way to evaluate players.

Re: Re: dWAR extreme effects.....

Ahhhhh, ya know why I bet.... are there much lower K rates in Japanese leagues? When Customs created players were going to lose all their defensive value from high Range Factors, I devised an estimator to carry over one to the other. OF COURSE, you can't literally get dWAR from mere putouts and assists, but it was scaled to mimic defensive equivalent. If all those guys had high RF to begin with, then yeah, they came out higher? I never even had 7 on my scale, Guy? Lol. It was capped by position, using all-time highs as the absolute max, or so I thought ?

Re: dWAR extreme effects.....

Good question Jay it has been a while so I don't recall how we got to 7 as a max.

Re: Re: dWAR extreme effects.....

While you're at it Guy, could you add more pitchers? Barely enough to fill the rosters and if you're last one in it's pretty slim pickin's.

Re: dWAR extreme effects.....

the real question in all of this is has Slater won a championship yet with each of the Japanese teams?

i dont think his PC journey is complete until he has

Re: Re: dWAR extreme effects.....

Only two left to get to the playoffs, and I have a KC team leading over 130 days in. Leaves just the Fish. Then as far as rings, finally nailed down the Mets...just the Fish, Brewers, Padres, Royals, M's and Twins to go..,MIL, MIN, SEA are just a matter of time. SD as a well.. MIA, KC are my white whales. Finally getting Marlin teams over .500 consistently...

Anyways, I won't be taking the Japanese League challenge, Mc...lol
