It's worth mentioning though that Martinez is only a single point behind the leader in the race. The difference between the two of them is low enough that it should be relatively easy to surpass that
Also, Nabholz has one thing going for him that Martinez does not: longevity in individual games. He seems to be going deeper into the games than Martinez is. Martinez doesn't even have a single complete game (which does directly factor into the Cy Young calculations directly, albeit it won't have too much value compared to other things) while Nabholz has 9. Having 30+ more strikeouts would also give Nabholz a leg up as well
It might seem like the individual advantages wouldn't affect it that much, but when there's multiple advantages like that, they can add up

The formula definitely is old school. It seems like it heavily values wins and innings pitched (and accordingly, complete games and shutouts). But I like that. Most of the leagues are historic, so it makes sense to have the awards selected in the way they were through most of baseball history rather than the way from the past 10 years or so.
