League Rules

1. TEAMS: This league is designed to be both fun and competitive without taking a lot of time from the commissioner or owners, made up of teams from two (2) season from 1871-2023. In order to qualify. Teams must have a winning percentage of .500 and below to be eligible for import.
divided into two 5 team divisions. Each owner will be able to choose 2 HOF players from your favorite team. One (1) Pitcher and one (1) position player. This is a one time draft and new owners to the league that use the option to change teams, will have the option to do the same his/her first season. All players you select and HOF players will be yours until you either you trade them or they retire, HOF players will never retire. They will just reboot back into the league at the same year they entered originally. Retirement age will be 40 or when player no longer has active season on their history. Some HOF players played into there late 40's.
This league will have no draft after an owners initial team selection. There will be no Supplemental Draft.
Players must have a minimum of 35 IP or 125 AB Any pitcher with less than 75 IP will be RP. Please contact me if there are any issues with this on imports.
2. RULES FOR DRAFTING TEAMS:
Rules will be the similar to the auto league favorite teams leagues. Please read this message regarding how it works.
Two (2) years from that team's history (based on the year range of this league: 1871-2021). You will then select a roster from the players available. You can pick up to 30 players for your major league roster and 10 additional players for the minor leagues. To qualify, a player needs 125 ABs or 35 IPs for RP and starters with less than 75 IP must be RP. No duplicate players will be allowed on the same team roster but duplicate players can exist on different teams.
Also duplicate players will be allowed, but must enter at different years. No duplicate player can be on any roster with the same year. No repeat imports will be allowed.
You will select your team from a from one any MLB teams. Remember, you can only draft teams that have a .500 winning percentage or less.
3. DIVISIONS: 2 6 team divisions. 6 in the Red Division and 6 in the Blue Divisions.
4. ROSTERS: 30 majors and 15 minors.
5. RETIREMENT: All players will retire at age 40 unless baseball-reference.com. has them playing longer.
6. EXISTING OWNERS CHANGING THEIR FRANCHISE: A league Owner will be given the option to change their franchise ONLY after they have owned a franchise for 5 (FIVE) SEASONS. They must choose a new team that has a .500 winning percentage or less.
As an Owner, you are expected to be active. Keep line-ups current, use Slump-Buster to try and keep your team competitive and make changes as needed on injured players.
7. PROGRESSION: Classic Progression. Players improve until age 29, stay the same from 29 till 33 and regress starting at transition to 34.
8. PLAYER DATA CHANGE: Player data changes each year. This means that at the beginning of each of the following season, you will have the choice to use progression or use player data change. Example. after progression, you can go to use other year and if he entered last season at 1920, you can use his 1921 stats if they are better. Note that if you exercise this option he will still retain age before change was made. Limit is 3 player stat changes per offseason.
You can not use stat change on your new imports and you can't move or regression a players stats. You can only move them forward one year. 3 players per season max.
9. IMPORTS: Each preseason, owner may choose one additional year from either teams history. Your entry winning percentages for the next season will be .525 for any imported team. This will actually give all the owners a vast number of import options more.
10.POSITION CHANGES: None allowed at this time. When starting a brand new team requests may be made for 1 positional spot and 1 pitching spot.
11. ROTATION: 5 man.
12. REALIGNMENT: Every Off-season, starting in Season 2, there will be a random realignment. The commissioner will use a random number generator to determine where each team will be placed in their respective in the division. All Even Numbered Teams will be in the North Division, while All Odd Numbered Teams will head to the South Division. There will be a link posted to show results, so there is no discrepancy. This will happen every season until further notice.
13. TEAM DETAILS: Owners will be able to make changes to their ballpark settings each off-season before start of season.
14. SIMS: Poll will be applied each season for all owners to decide.
15. FATIGUE: This option will be off

22. TEAM DELETION PROCEDURE: In the event that a new owner wishes to replace an existing franchise with the team of his choice, the following procedure will take affect with regards to the team being deleted. All original members of that franchise will be deleted, with the exception of those players which were traded to other teams. Those players will remain on those teams, and will be unaffected.
23. CONDUCT: No whining. No drama. If an owner directs personal insults at another owner, he will receive one warning from the Commissioner, and the Chat Box will be cleared. On the second offense, the offending owner will be removed from the league. A little good-natured trash talk is ok, but keep it from become personal. Abusive language is unacceptable.
24. PLAYOFF FORMAT: The division winners in each division will draw a first round bye in the playoffs as a top seed. The next four best records, regardless of their division will be seated in the wildcards round. We will grant 3 days off at the end of the regular season and there will be 1 day off for travel whenever home field changes.) Again, tiebreaker will be based the team with the best differential. All games will be a best of 7 series. Division winners will always be the top seed and home team in all rounds.
**RULE ADDITIONS OR CHANGES: Any rule additions or changes will be voted upon by the owners as a poll taking a majority of the vote to carry.
