League Rules

🌶 Season 36 will have the following change in the season start up...
(1) There will be 3 days or so to cut rosters back to legal limits (exact date will be published)
(2) FA's & Drops will be turned on the day following roster validation.

🌶Season 33 starts the following new rules.

Regulus Relegation League Rules


14 Teams: 7 in Lower Division + 7 in Upper Division

End of season relegation process:


  • Top three teams in Lower Division are Promoted
  • Bottom three teams in majors are demoted

Preseason Activities:

Roster Clipping
Upper league team’s Minor league rosters are cleared and any players are returned to the FA pool.

Special Prize for Lower League Champion
(Lower League Champ is the best record holder from preceding regular season)
This team's owner gets one pick, before anyone else, in the rookie pool next season before the drafts occur.

Rookie Draft

  • Regulus Lower Division teams only
  • Can only draft from 22 year old rookie class
  • 2 picks for each team
  • Round 1: Worst record first/Best record last
  • Round 2: Reverse Order


Lower League Progression Bonus:

  • (a) Eligible teams: Lower League Members Only
  • (b) Owner may pick ONE rookie from the rookie draft and alter the progression method
  • (c) Owner may change any U or F progression to a C, A, or S progression
  • (d) if the owner has picked no rookies with a U or F progression, owner may substitute the next youngest non-rookie U or F on the roster and change them


General Supplemental Draft 1:

  • (a) Eligible teams: ALL Teams Participate
  • (b) All Players are Eligible, regardless of age
  • (c) 2 Rounds
  • Round 1: Worst record first/Best record last (Please note that all teams in the lower league are deemed “worst record” than any team in the upper league)
  • Round 2: Reverse Order

  • (a) Eligible teams: ALL Teams Participate
  • (b) All Players are Eligible, regardless of age

Players:

  • 1945 – Present, including Negro League players
  • Rookie class is aged 22
  • Forced retirement at 38 years old
  • No contracts
  • 23 players on your Majors roster - have a minimum of 9 pitchers to ensure sims can run without interruption.
  • Players progress after the World Series. Each player's progression style is set randomly by the system when the player is created. Peak is ages 28-32.
  • You get to keep your players on your major league (Division 1) roster until they retire, you drop them or you trade them. Players on your Minor roster are released back to the FA pool after the World Series. Exception: If you are in the Regulus Lower-League, neither your Major nor your Minor league rosters are cleared.

Playoffs:

  • Top 3 Upper league teams make the playoffs
  • All playoff series are 7 games, resting after #2 and #5
  • Round 1 - #3 plays #2, #1 has a bye into WS due to winning the league
  • World Series
  • 2 days rest before each playoff series
  • 1 days rest after games 2 and 5 in a 7 game series


  • Position Tie Breakers
  • Head to Head results from regular season
  • Run Differential
  • Best team ERA
  • Best Team OPS

Bragging Rights Series

  • Best of Five Games series held between Lower League Champ and World Series Champ for bragging rights.
  • No rest between the Five games
  • Three days rest before the series
  • Award: Winner may pick one player on roster that is rated "U" and have that player be changed to a "A"


Owners:
  • Expectation is for courteous and respectful owners
  • May remove owners that are inactive after 1 month
  • Please alert the commish if you need to be inactive for a stretch of time and I will accommodate


Other Rules:
  • 168 game season (Each team plays other teams in 6 4-game series with some rest days during the season)
  • Games within League only (i.e. Upper League Teams play only Upper League Teams, Regulus Lower-League Teams only play Regulus Lower-League Teams)
  • 4 games in each series
  • Sims will be slower at the beginning of the season to provide owners with more time to adjust their team, then sped up as the season advances
  • No all star game
  • Trades open from game 1 to game 150 (✴This has changed, see top of this page✴)
  • Drops open from after game 5 to game 150 (✴This has changed, see top of this page✴)
  • FA open from game 1 to game 150 (✴This has changed, see top of this page✴)
  • No spring Training
  • If line up is invalid such that a sim cannot be completed, commish will take whatever roster action is necessary to execute the sims without consultation of owner, so please check your rosters
  • 5 man rotation
  • Injuries are on: max 10 days for pitchers and batters
  • Teams may not be edited
  • Players season stats may not be edited
  • Player positions may not be changed
