League Rules
1) 6 owners, 12 teams. Each owner will have 2 teams, one AL, one NL. The Yankees will not be available. We start with 1976 rosters and have a classic progression. So players get 1 year older as usual each progression. Difference is, we will go back in time. Imports the next seasons will be 1975, 1974, 1973, etc. Players can get younger though, as described in the stat change section below.
2) The available teams are the following: NL- Braves, Cardinals, Cubs, Dodgers, Giants Phillies, Pirates, Reds.
AL- A's, Indians, Orioles, Red Sox, Tigers, Twins, White Sox
3) Each year you will get all of that team’s imports. Original imports need 50 AB or 25 IP. Under 100 AB/35 IP gets stats doubled. If a player played for more than one team, he goes to the one he played for last (regardless of AB or IP). Future imports will be set at 100/35.
4) Rosters: Major league – 26, plus 12 more in the minors.
5) No contracts
6) Trades: Trades will be unlimited, but you may not trade between your own teams.
7) 4 man rotations , WAR used instead of fire, Sims set to run every 3 hours
8) Duplicate players cannot co-exist in the league
9) Following the original roster imports, each team can pick three players from your team's 2016 roster. If there is a player eligible and wanted by more than 1 team, he'll go to the team with the worse 1976 record. These players won't have stat change available. Free agents will be available through the waiver system. Free agents will be from players cut from other teams. In future seasons, there is no draft, only imports and free agency from cut players.
10) 154 game schedule. No interleague play until the championship. Top 2 in each league makes the playoffs, then winner moves to the title game. Series are 2-3-2. Tie breakers are head to head, then point differential.
11) POSITION CHANGES:
Pitchers: If you are short of starters, or relievers, you can switch one to the other to fill a need.
Fielders: Will switch primary and secondary position when the secondary position was played 25% of the players career (by games played) or 35% of the present season.
12) Stat change and progression: There will be unlimited stat change to the current season (must have 100 AB or 35 IP). Players that get stat changed get moved to that age, which is in this leagues case, makes them younger. Progression age is set at 28/32 and uses classic progression.
13. Fatigue and injuries are used. 20 games max on injuries
14) New and additional rules will be added when I think of them.
Some leagues use fictional player progression. To learn more about how players progress, check the Player Potential page.
