League Rules
OVERVIEW:This league is called the Ultimate Test for a good reason! There will be 6 “mini-seasons” of 50 games each. Over the course of the 6 seasons—300 games total—each owner will manage each of the 6 teams on a rotation schedule. The winner will be the owner who has the most cumulative wins plus bonus points. There are no playoffs.
After all 300 games have been played, bonus points will be added to each team’s win totals as follows:
Most wins in each specialty—5
Second most wins in each specialty—3
Additional teams with a .500 or better record in each specialty—1
The 6 teams are all specialty teams with 10 players on each team prior to the draft. These specialty players must remain on their original teams throughout the entire 300-game season.
Following is a list of the 6 teams with their respective specialties.
Akron Aces:
Only team with pitchers with WHIPS of 1.16 or lower.
Fargo Fireballers:
Only team with pitchers with K/9 rates of 9.0 or higher
Hollywood Hit Machine:
Only team with batters with OBPs of .385 or higher
Jupiter Jackrabbits:
Only team with baserunners with speed ratings of 8-10
Lake Forest Leathermen:
Only team with fielders with dWARs of 1.60 or higher
Manitoba Maulers:
Only team with batters with SLG%s of .540 or higher
PLAYER POOL:
The initial season will use 2000 players. The next season 2001 players, etc. After each season, all rosters will be cleared. New players are imported. Sixty new specialty players are determined—10 of each type.
DRAFTS:
There will be 6 drafts each season—the initial draft and one at the end of each 50-game mini-season. The draft order will always be the same:
Lake Forest Leathermen
Fargo Fireballers
Akron Aces
Jupiter Jackrabbits
Manitoba Maulers
Hollywood Hit Machine
IMPORTANT NOTE: this will also be the rotation schedule after each 50 games!
TEAM COMPOSITION:
There will be 26-man rosters with no minor league roster. This should easily suffice since there will be NO INJURIES. However, ENDURANCE (EN) or FATIGUE will be used; so, draft/plan accordingly.
Some leagues use fictional player progression. To learn more about how players progress, check the Player Potential page.
