League Rules

Welcome to Leaders Lead The Way. This will be a unique league using historical players brought in by decades as the player pool needs. There will not be a lot of rules to put you to sleep or really confuse.

First and foremost, please stay active. If you will have to be offline more than 7 days please message the commish.

1)The theme of this league works like this:teams will play 39 games with an emphasis on games within their division. Games are single game matchups.

After 39 games, the top 4 teams by record will be moved into the Division 1 The next 4 teams by record will be moved into the Division 2 The next 4 teams by record will be moved to the Division 3. Teams with identical records will be realigned based on run differential. Best run differential moves to the highest tier

After the teams have been moved a new schedule of 39 games will be generated, again with an emphasis on games within their division. Games will still be single game matchups. Teams will be given 5 days rest after every 39 games

The season is 156 games,so this will happen 4 times.
(4 games a day will be simmed)

At the end of the season, the teams will be realigned one last time by record.

Division 1 will then have a post season to determine a champion. The setup is as follows:

1st round 4th v 1st best of 7
1st round 3rd v 2nd best of 7

Championship winners of 1st round play best of 7 for the Leaders Trophy.

2)Players

Players will be historical players imported by decades starting with 1900-1910. When the talent pool begins to get low,the next decade will be imported. Players will be imported as Classic

3)Progressions

Players will progress until the age of 28 and regress at 32. They will retire at 42 no matter what.

4)Contracts

Players can be signed to a max of 5 years. Players will demand raises.

5)Team Rosters/Budgets

Teams will have a roster size of 25 major and 5 minor with a min of 12 position players and a min of 10 pitchers.

Teams have a budget of $300(with the players being used asking for raises and then free agency it's going to be needed)

For the initial season, teams will draft their players when they join using the same system as an auto league. Then we will have a free agent bidding period,so you may want to sign some key players once you draft your team so you know what kind of budget you have left.

6)Draft/Trades

There is no draft and no trading

7)Free Agent Bidding

3 days after the championship game, free agent bidding will begin. The bidding format will be as follows:

SP Donald Clinton $1/1=$1 if adding a raise then:
SP Donald Clinton $1/2/+3=$6

!!Please note,$99 a year is the highest amount that can be bid because 99 is the biggest the field will allow!!

There will be a 36 hour period of bidding for pitchers first. At the end of 36 hours, the top 4 bidding teams on a player will have 8 hours to each submit 1 private bid. The winning bid will be revealed after the 8 hour window passes.

After the bidding on pitchers is done, there will then be a 36 hour period of bidding for position players. Same process will be used.

There will be an update page on the homepage with bid postings as often as possible.

It may occur that a team will go over budget during the free agent bidding period. If this occurs, that teams highest winning bid player during that free agency period will be removed from the team and will be awarded to the team with the next highest bid. If that team would go over budget, then the next bid would get the player.

8)Injuries/Fatigue/Days off

Injuries will be on at max possible.
Fatigue is on.
Days off will occur after every 40 games. Teams will get 5 days off.

Standard setup for days off will be used for playoffs.

This is it. If I think of something I missed,I will add it. In general I want to keep it fairly short and sweet rule wise.

Jason
