League Rules
Welcome to Major League Baseball Dynasty!
Commissioner jim2miller
Note:
1. GM's who are new to the league are permitted to alter two contracts as follows: cut the remaining years on a contract or extend a contract by one year.
2. Any player with a $2/yr contract is under a rookie contract which can be completely voided at any time by sending a request to the commissioner.
3. Once a contract is cleared it is permitted to sign the player to a contract through the "Manage Contracts" link on the team page.
4. Decent players on your roster who do not have contracts should be signed. Pay attention to their age and potential rating. Players improve through their 20's as they approach 30 years old. This is especially true for guys with "S" or "A" ratings on potential, however "F" players do not improve much (if at all).
5. If you have less than 9 active pitchers the SIM will freeze and the commissioner will have to manually update your roster.
6. During your first season you will be on probation, which means that the commissioner reserves the right to reverse your trade if he feels another manager is taking advantage of you.
League Rules
MANAGERIAL EXPECTATION
1. It is expected and required that all managers be active in this league. Extended dormant periods will lead to a boot. If you know your not going be around for a while, message the commissioner to hold your spot.
2. It is expected that teams try to compete to win. Teams which 'tank' by putting good players on the bench or in the minors (or in the wrong defensive position) could lead to a boot.
3. Contracts are not voided when a GM leaves the team.
4. Commissioner will run teams that are not being actively managed.
5. GM's may have a team in each league if they have at least one season of experience in this league.
6. GM's may not make a deal between two teams that they run. In addition, multiple deals between two people may be voided by the commissioner if these deals appear to help 'load' one team over another.
PAYROLL AND ROSTER
1. The commissioner sets the league salary cap before each season.
2. Teams that exceed the salary cap will have their highest paid starting pitcher removed and placed into a bidding process for the other teams. If they remain over the cap, their highest paid hitters will be placed into the same bidding process until they have reached the salary cap.
3. GM's who are new to the league are permitted to change up to two contracts on their roster. They can add one season to an existing contract or they can terminate remaining years on a contract to save money against the cap.
4. Teams that exceed the maximum roster size will have their best hitter set to injured until the roster is corrected.
5. Maximum contract length at the time of signing is 7 seasons.
6. Active rosters are limited to 26.
SEASON
1. 162 game regular season. The league schedule is to sim 4 times per day.
2. Trade deadline 4:00pm EST the day game 120 takes place.

3. The top seed from each league earn a first round bye.
4. Seeding is based on final season stats and each new round will have the highest seeded team against the lowest seeded team available.
5. Seven game series format is (2-3-2).
6. Four days of rest will be granted after the end of the regular season, one after game 2, one after game 5, and one after game 7.
WORLD SERIES
1. Seven game series (2-3-2 format). Best regular season record has home field regardless of seed, so best record is the deciding factor.
TIEBREAKER FORMULA
1. If the teams had the same regular season record, the team that allowed the least amount of runs would win the tie breaker
2. If that tie cannot be broken, the team that scored more runs would win the tie breaker.

1. Draft order is unchanged.
2. These draft picks can not be traded.

1. The balance of the major league and minor league rosters will be filled by supplemental drafts.
ROOKIE EXTENSIONS
1. Any player being paid $2 per season season: the GM can request that the contract eliminated to allow the GM to sign the player to an extension.
2. If a player is named a major league all star while they are under contract for $2, then the contract is eliminated and they are allowed to negotiate an extension with the team or will become a free agent after the season.
CONTRACT CUTS OR EXTENSION LOTTERY
1. The Powerball Lottery will determine if GM's can cut a contract or extend a contract as follows:
* If the red powerball is 1-7 each GM can cut one contract to "expiring" after the upcoming season.
* If the red powerball is 8-14 each GM can extend one contract by one year.
* If the red powerball is 15-26 each GM can either cut one contract to "expiring" or extend one contract by one year.
Powerball extensions can not be applied to $2 contracts.
Extensions cannot be offered to players who exceed the steroid threshold listed in league rules.
