League Rules
- SIM SCHEDULE: This league will mostly be run by user-sim, so expect 2-3 sims per day. I will jump in and speed things up when necessary.
- POST-SEASON: Division winners and one wild card in each league will reach the playoffs. Seeding will be based on record, so the best record will play the worst record in the first round. Each series is 2-3-2 format.
- DAYS OFF: Three days off at midseason. Three days off before playoffs begin. One day off every four playoff games (hence only four-man rotation is needed). One day off between each playoff round. If one team finishes a series quicker, they will be given the extra days off.
- TIEBREAKERS: Ties for division champs or wild cards will result in a one-game playoff. Ties for seeding will be broken based on head-to-head games, then power ranking.
- TRADING: If you trade for a player under contract, you inherit the contract.
- TRADE & FREE AGENT DEADLINE: Game 140 will be the trade/free agent deadline for the season.
- CONTRACTS: You can sign contracts for the following season at any time during the current season. At the end of the season, any players not signed will become free agents.
- EXPIRING CONTRACTS: When a player's contract expires, he must become a free agent and return to the draft.
- PLAYER PROGRESSION: After each season, players will age and stats will change slightly. Players improve until age 28 and slowly decline afterward.
- RETIREMENT: Players will retire at age 38. Beware you will lose any players 38 and older after each season. Rookies will be added to replace retired players.
- ROOKIES: Players from MLB history will be added to the rookie pool if needed. Some fictional players may be created as well. The number of rookies added will depend on how many players retired.
- LIVE DRAFT: After contracts are signed, each team will get four picks in a live rolling draft. Worst record picks first, with the World Champs picking last.
- AUTO DRAFT: After the supplemental draft, each team will Auto Draft to finish out their rosters.
- FREE AGENTS: Before the season starts, a date and time will be announced for free agency to open so everyone can get the final two players to finish their 25-man roster.
- NEW SEASON: After the World Series, there will be a grace period for teams to finalize contracts. Then contracts will be advanced and a new Auto Draft will be open. Any owner who does not draft will be booted.
Some leagues use fictional player progression. To learn more about how players progress, check the Player Potential page.
