I think that for every year that you would like to extend someone (Max. 3) there should be a $2 increase in salary, based off from the salary of the expiring contract - with a $8 mininum. For example, if I wanted to to extend Al Downing ($4) after this season, the first year of his extension would automatically be $8, since 4 plus 2 is lower than 8. His second year 10, third year 12....But if I wanted to extend Sal Bando ($18) at the end of his contract: the numbers would be $20, $22, $24. I also think we should allow a team a max of two extensions per year, and a player can only be extended by the same team once. And the contract would have to be edited so that a 1-year extension would still count against the cap, so you wouldn;t just get a "free year".

Sorry I dejected my point, decided not to get involved. But yeah, hard to expect AI to get into much detail about trades.
