Were the 東北 木材株式会社 truly struggling, or did they do it intentionally just to make the series more entertaining? We may never know the answer to that question. What we do know is that mighty 東北 has done it again. They topped the Canton Terriers in seven games in a series that saw each team win three in a row to win their 3rd consecutive and 27th overall league championship. Outfielder Eric Davis batted .464 in the series and was named MVP.
