Starting lineup (favorite teams)

Starting lineup (favorite teams)

My inquiry revolves around how many of what position are considered starters on offense and in the defensive backfield. For the front 7, you can choose between 4-3 or 3-4. Other than that, it seems to be gray. Would it be 2 RB and 2 WR? or 1 RB and 3 WR?
Same question for CB and S. 2&2 or 3&1?
Or is it ambiguous and you should have depth at those positions because every play has different personnel on the field (realism)?
Thanks! Just trying to figure out how I should be stacking my roster.

Re: Starting lineup (favorite teams)

It's the latter, it's ambiguous and different sets are used for different circumstances. So, it's wise to be about 3-4 WRs deep, the 5th DB is essentially the nickel corner, etc. Basically, I tend to make sure I'm relatively sold with 2 RB (assuming I don't have a workhorse who can carry the whole game), 4 WRs, 1 TE (a second TE may also see action), and if I am 4-3 defense then I focus on 3 DTs, 8 or 9 combined DE/LBs and about 6 DBs in total.

Thanks gbacci! I used to kill it in baseball in the late 2000s as a teen and just kinda rediscovered your site here recently. I appreciate all you do.
