Pennant Chase Basketball Question-Subs
Pennant Chase Basketball Question-Subs
Just wondering if you can use a player assigned to one position (a PG for example) as a backup emergency sub for both guard positions or maybe use a SG as an emergency sub for a SF or a PF as an emergency sub for a C? If you can, how do you do this?
One other thing I would like to see in the basketball sim is adding a negative shooting percentage to players you do not want shooting the ball as much as they did in real life and have player options available that have players shoot more threes than usual or less than they usually shoot. Love the wave concept though- that, in my opinion, is the best part of the game.

Re: Pennant Chase Basketball Question-S
yes, you can do these substitutions. you will need to make the changes in waves, or edit lineup. i am not sure if the 'swap players' function in waves will work with different positions. will need to do it manually in there.
gbacci has addressed the shooting less question before, the players tendencies in real life are the basis for everything, such as making curry shoot less 3's, or SGA to shoot more of them.

@dalbpho8 @thaverkos Dalb, I think he's asking about instances where the CPU has to make a substitution due to foul trouble or something like that, and if I am remembering correctly, there is not currently a way to tell the CPU to choose a SG instead of say your backup SF to replace your current SF if he's in foul trouble.
Regarding shooting less - yes, it's been a hotly debated topic, and the consensus has been you should have to live with the shots your guy takes. You can't turn a ball hog into less of a ball hog, that comes with the stats you're drafting. You can mitigate it a bit by boosting other guys, but you can't force guys to shoot less, or shoot fewer 3Ps, for example.

Re: Pennant Chase Basketball Questi
Gbacci- you are correct in your assumption that i am addressing subbing for a player that has triggered the "foul trouble" substitution protocol that we are allowed to customize. In the baseball sim (which is AWESOME by the way!) players can play at several positions- sure they are not as good defensively when they are playing out of their normal position- but you can have players play different positions as subs or as platoon players. I would like to see a similar functionality in the basketball sim if it's doable but if it's not I'll have to adapt my strategy to what the sim allows. Just asking the question in case I'm missing something.
Thanks for all your efforts- I'm really enjoying the site so far because it feeds my stat addiction. I have loved this stuff since I played Strat-O-Matic Baseball 45 years ago with the cards, dice and the dreaded X-Charts that we had to reference all the time. This is much better!
