Another year in the books: good bye 2022

Ever since the craziness of 2020, the years feel like both a blur and a grind all at once. It reminds of something they say about parenthood: the days are long, but the years are short.

I'm not sure what any of that has to do with PennantChase, other than to say I always have to remind myself what a surprisingly productive year it was. And really, 2022 was pretty wild ... with a brand new mobile app being released and football coming to life! Besides those big projects, a bunch of draft room features were launched making slow drafts a lot more manageable, the on-fire icon was finally added to baseball box scores, confetti was introduced, and the training feature came out for basketball and football. And all of this mostly happening late at night in my few free hours of the day - it's pretty crazy what having a passion for something can do!

And of course, we had some EPIC trolls on the site this year, or at least one VERY epic one.

Of course, there were a lot of smaller changes and infrastructure updates and upgrades too. And we added 2,500 new users, which is more than we used to get in the pre-COVID years.

As for 2023, well I don't know if it will be as eventful - 2022 had some big launches that will be hard to top, but I'll do my best.

Okay now for the 2022 leaders:

It was another record-breaking year on pennantchase.com! Rreebe916 and WorcWarrior raced to the top in baseball, with Rreebe earning nearly 40,000 wins — over 3,000 wins more than the closest competition. It's no surprise; they were the two titleholders from last year too. But those weren’t the only successes: 16 members recorded over 25,000 wins in total, making it a record-breaking year all around. It's fair to say we have more engaged users than we've ever had!

Football stats from this year are currently being compiled and will factor into 2023 totals.

Moving over to the basketball side of things, bdavids had no intention of giving up his win-king crown - trailed by kingstreet. Also, dalbpho and bdavids led Hoops Playground in wins, which is still seeing some action!

Thanks to all of you who made it a great year. Best wishes to you and yours in 2023!
