Lead Story - 1/21/2026

Toronto Aces - Season 38 World Series Champions

The Toronto Aces beat the Arizona Baxter Bobcats 4 games to 1 to win the Season 38 World Series.
The Aces took control of Game 1 early, scoring 6 in the 3rd inning building a 10-0 4th inning lead. Pujols hit a 2 run double and Pie Traynor hit a 2 run single in the 3rd and Traynor hit another 2 run single in the 4th. The Bobcats rallied in the 5th, scoring 6 runs with RBI singles by Cool Papa Bell, Darrin Fletcher and Ken Williams. The Aces added a run in the 6th, taking Game 1, 11-6.
Game 2 was a good one. The Aces took an early 2-0 lead with a 1st inning homer by Pujols and a 2nd inning RBI by Roy Campanella. The Bobcats narrowed the lead with a RBI single by Bell in the 4th. The score remained 2-1, and in the 8th, the Bobcats scored 2 to take the lead 3-2. Bell and Williams both hit RBI doubles. In the Bottom of the 9th, Campanella hit a walk off 2 run double to give the Aces the win 4-3.
Ron Guidry gave the Bobcats their first victory of the Series in Game 3 with a complete game shutout holding the Aces to 3 hits, striking out 6. In the 4th, the Bobcats loaded the bases, and Fletcher doubled in 3 runs. The Bobcats won the game 4-0.
The Aces offense went back to work in Game 4. Lance Berkman opened the scoring with a RBI single in the 1st, and Campanella hit a 2 run homer in the 2nd and RBI double in the 4th to give the Aces a 5-0 lead. Appling hit a 2 run homer in the 8th, extending the Aces lead to 8-0. The Bobcats rallied for 3 runs in the bottom of the 8th on Williams’ 2 run triple. The Aces took a 3-1 series lead with the victory 9-3.
Game 5 was another good one. The Aces scored first with 2 runs in the top of the 2nd. Traynor and Campanella hit back to back RBI doubles. The Bobcats tied the game in the bottom of the 2nd with a RBI single by Joe Sewell and a RBI triple by Fletcher. The Bobcats scored 3 in the bottom of the 3rd with a 3 run homer by Frank Thomas to take a 5-2 lead. The Aces tied the game in the top of the 4th 5-5 on Keller’s solo homer and Campanella’s 2 run homer. In the top of the 8th, Albert Pujols broke the tie with a sac fly, giving the Aces the championship with a 6-5 victory.
Roy Campanella won the Series MVP for the Aces with a .471 Avg, 2.000 OPS, 5 doubles 2 home runs and 12 RBI.
Ken Williams led the Bobcats on offense with a .400 Avg, 1.550 OPS, 2 doubles 3 triples and 4 RBI.

Los Angeles Rally Monkeys - Season 37 World Series Champions

The Los Angeles Rally Monkeys defeated the Washington Screeches 4 games to 2 to win the Season 37 World Series.
The Rally Monkeys took command of the World Series winning the first 3 games behind dominant pitching. In Game 1 Pedro Martinez held the Screeches to 2 runs through 6 innings to get the victory. RBI singles by Jim Thome and Reggie Smith put the Rally Monkeys on top 3-1 in the 1st in route to a 6-2 victory.
Orval Overall pitched 8.2 shutout innings holding the Screeches to 4 hits to get the Game 2 victory. Tim Raines’ RBI triple started the scoring and Gibson’s sac fly gave the Rally Monkeys a 2 run 1st inning in route to a 6-0 victory.
Corlos Rodon pitched 6 shutout innings holding the Screeches to 4 hits to get the Game 3 victory. Ketel Marte’s 2 RBI single in the 4th put the Rally Monkeys up 4-0 in route to a 4-1 victory, giving the Rally Monkeys a 3-0 Series lead.
The Screeches got their first win of the Series in Game 4. Down 4-0 in the 6th, the Screeches scored 5 runs to take the lead. Roy Campanella and Ian Kinsler had RBI singles, and Elmer Valo hit a 2 RBI double. In the 8th, Del Crandall and Ben Zorbist hit Solo homers to give the Screeches the victory 7-5.
Pedro Martinez and Jim Maloney battled through 8 to a 3-3 tie in Game 5. Roy Campanella’s 2nd inning 2 run homer put the Screeches up early 3-1. Josh Gibson narrowed the lead in the 5th with a RBI single, and Reggie Smith’s RBI single in the 8th tied the game at 3-3. The game went to extra innings and in the bottom of the 11th, Bill Freehan’s 2 out RBI double gave the Screeches the win 4-3.
JR Richards and Orval Overall battled in Game 6. Richards allowed 2 runs on 4 hits for the Screeches, but Overall pitched another gem, allowing 6 hits in a complete game shutout. Sam Jethroe’s RBI double opened the scoring in the 3rd, and Ketel Marte hit a 7th inning solo homer to give the Rally Monkeys the victory 2-0, and the World Championship.
Orval Overall won the Series MVP, with 2 shutout wins, 17.2 innings, 0.00 ERA, .930 WHIP, 3.66 K/9
Sam Jethroe led the Rally Monkeys on offense with a .391 Avg, 1.043 OPS, 3 doubles and 2 RBI
Tris Speaker led the Screeches on offense with a .313 Avg, .875 OPS.

San Francisco Lou Seals - Season 36 World Series Champions

The San Francisco Lou Seals defeated the Detroit Paws 4 games to 2 to win the Season 36 World Series.
Jim Maloney led the Lou Seals to victory in Game 1, holding the Paws to 1 run on 5 hits. The Paws scored first with a RBI single by Scott Rolen in the 4th. The Lou Seals tied it at 1 in the bottom half of the 4th on Chipper Jones’ solo homer. In the 6th, Jones and Mike Piazza hit back to back RBI doubles to give the Lou Seals the victory 4-1.
Game 2 went 17 innings, with the Lou Seals coming out on top 6-5. The Lou Seals took a 2-1 lead in the 1st; Pop Lloyd opened the scoring with a RBI double for the Paws, and Piazza hit a 2 run homer for the Lou Seals. Down 3-2 in the 7th, the Paws took the lead 5-3 on Manny Ramirez’ 2 RBI double. Wally Berger narrowed the lead for the Lou Seals in the 8th, and Josh Hamilton tied the game at 5-5 with a 9th inning solo Homer. After 6 scoreless extra innings, Jones singled and Berger’s triple ended the game in the 17th, 6-5 Lou Seals.
Nap Rucker brought the Paws their first win of the Series in Game 3, holding the Lou Seals to 1 run on 5 hits. Jones game the Lou Seals the early lead with a RBI single in the 1st. The Paws tied it in the 4th on Ramirez’ solo homer. RBI singles by Andrew McCutcheon and Lloyd in the 7th gave the Paws the win, 3-1.
Fred Beebe put the Lou Seals on top 3 games to 1 in Game 4, holding the Paws to 1 run on 5 hits. In the 2nd, Hamilton’s RBI single put the Lou Seals on top 1-0. Berger and Duke Snider hit solo homers in the 6th to give the Paws a 3-0 lead. Jose Valverde got the save, Lou Seals 4, Paws, 1.
The Paws offense exploded in the 1st inning of Game 5, scoring 5 runs on Ramirez’ 3 run homer, Lloyd’s solo homer and Rolen’s 2 RBI double. The Lou Seals narrowed the lead to 5-3 in the 2nd and that score held until the 8th when the Paws blew the game open on Jackie Robinson’s grand slam taking the victory 10-3.
Satchel Paige pitched a 2 hit shutout, striking out 8 to give the Lou Seals the World Championship. The Lou Seals scored all four of their runs in the 2nd as Snider started the scoring with a 2 run homer. Piazza added a 2 RBI single giving Paige all he needed in the 4-0 Game 6 victory.
Chipper Jones won the Series MVP for the Lou Seals, batting .304 with a 1.165 OPS, 1 double, 1 home run and 3 RBI.
Josh Burkett led the Paws on offense batting .357 with a .429 OBP. Scoring 4 runs.

Colorado Dingers - Season 35 World Series Champions

The Colorado Dingers won the Season 35 World Series 4 games to 3 over the Tampa Bay Raymonds. It was a hard fought series with all games decided by 1 or 2 runs.
In Game 1, both teams traded runs in the 1st, and the Raymonds took a 3-2 lead in the 2nd on Ken Griffey Jr’s solo homer. The Dingers tied the game at 3 with a RBI single in the 7th, and took a 5-3 lead in the top of the 9th on George Grantham’s 2 run homer. The Raymonds’ rally fell one short in the bottom of the 9th, and the Dingers got the victory 5-4.
The Raymonds tied the Series in Game 2. The Dingers took a 3-2 lead in the 6th on Paul Goldschmidt’s 2 run double. The Raymonds tied it in the 7th on Chick Hafey’s RBI and took the victory 4-3 on Johnny Bench’s RBI double in the 8th.
The Raymonds took the lead in the Series with a Game 3 victory. Cy Morgan held the Dingers to 1 earned run, striking out 7 to earn the victory, 4-2. With the score tied 2-2 in the 7th, Ken Griffey Jr hit a 2 run homer to give the Raymonds the win.
The Dingers tied the Series in Game 4. Walter Johnson pitched 7 shutout innings, allowing 4 hits and striking out 5 for the win. Joey Votto and Bryce Harper hit solo homers in the 6th, giving the Dingers the victory 3-1.
The Raymonds took back the Series lead in Game 5, 3 games to 2 behind the pitching of Double Duty Radcliffe, who pitched a 4 hit shutout. Hafey had an RBI single in the 5th and Banks hit an RBI single in the 6th, giving the Raymonds a 2-0 victory.
Claude Hendrix and Nolan Ryan battled in Game 6. Hendrix came out on top for the Dingers with a 1 hit shutout, striking out 7. Nolan Ryan allowed 1 run on 3 hits, striking out 7 for the Raymonds, giving up a 5th inning solo homer to Chipper Jones. Dingers 1, Raymonds 0.
Slim Sallee brought the World Championship to Colorado, holding the Raymonds to 2 runs on 7 hits. The Dingers took a 3-0 lead with a 2 run double by Jones in the 4th and a RBI single by Joe DiMaggio in the 5th. Johnny Bench started a rally for the Raymonds in the 7th with a solo homer, but fell 1 short, and the Dingers took the Game 7 victory 3-2.
Chipper Jones won the Series MVP with his Game 6 & 7 heroics, finishing the Series with a .296 Avg, .963 OPS, 2 doubles 1 home run and 4 RBI.
Chick Hafey led the Raymonds on offense with a .391 Avg and .957 OPS.

Atlanta Homers - Season 34 World Series Champions

The Atlanta Homers defeated the Tampa Bay Raymonds 4 games to 1 to win the Season 34 World Series.
Frank Smith pitched 2 complete games to win the Series MVP. Smith allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in Game 1 putting the Homers on top in the Series. The Homers jumped out early, scoring 2 in the 1st on Sam Jethroe’s RBI double. Hal Trosky hit a 2 run homer in the 3rd as the Homers stretched their lead to 5-0, in route to a 5-2 victory.
Mario Soto and Cy Morgan battled in game 2, both allowing 2 runs into the 8th. Carew started the scoring for the Homers with a 1st inning solo homer. The Raymonds tied the game in the 5th and took the lead in the 6th on Jason Giambi’s solo homer. Charlie Keller tied the game for the Homers with a 8th inning solo homer, and Jackie Robinson put the Raymonds back on top with a RBI in the bottom of the 8th. Raymonds 3, Homers 2.
Barney Pelty led the Homers to a Game 3 victory, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. RBI’s by Keller, Trosky and Home Run Baker put the Homers on top in the 3rd, and RBI’s by Keller Trosky and Jethroe in the 4th gave the Homers the 6-2 victory.
The Homers took the early lead 4-0 in the 1st inning of Game 4 on a 3 run homer by Trosky. The Raymonds tied the game 4-4 in the 6th on Giambi’s 2 run homer and a solo homer by Mark Teixeira. The Homers scored 2 in the bottom of the 8th to take the lead 6-4 on an RBI double by Jethroe. The Raymonds tied the game 6-6 in the top of the 9th on Ernie Banks’ 2 run homer. In the bottom of the 9th, Keller hit a walk of solo homer to give the Homers the victory 7-6.
Frank Smith and Tom Seaver both went the distance, battling in Game 5. Seaver allowed 1 run on 6 hits for the Raymonds, but Smith came out on top with a 4 hit shutout, striking out 9. Oscar Charleston’s 6th inning RBI ground out gave the Homers the run they needed to win the game 1-0 and the World Championship.
Series MVP Frank Smith won 2 games with a 1.00 ERA, .778 WHIP and 7.0 K/9.
Charlei Keller led the Homers on offense with a .316 Avg, 1.421 OPS, 1 double 1 triple, 2 home runs and 5 RBI.
Jason Giambi led the Raymonds on offense with a .300 Avg, 1.100 OPS, 1 double 2 home runs and 4 RBI.
