League Rules
Teams? This league consists of the 8 original National League teams. There will be NO expansion. This is also a fast paced league. We will sim roughly one season every two weeks
Players
? This league uses real players, real stats, and real progression. Players are eligible for the league if they had 40 real at-bats or pitched 15 real innings in the corresponding year. This changes to 50 AB and 25 IP in 1988.
? Players are assigned to teams based on the team they played for first in the season they first become eligible.
? Players remain with their teams until they are traded or dropped or until they no longer have enough appearances to qualify.
? Original rosters were formed by first importing 1900 players and then progressing and adding up to our first season, 1902. This was done to increase the number of pitchers.
? In a situation where a player makes no appearances, then has a year or more "retired" (i.e. not enough "real" stats to qualify for this league), and returns in a future season based on real stats with another team, the player will go to the latter team. In order to keep from losing a player in this situation, teams need to give the player at least one appearance so that there will be a record of this on his player card.
? Player positions can not be changed under any circumstances. If a team is short at a position, the owner must use a player out of position, or make a trade. The commish may also loan low ranked players from teams that have extra players.
Rosters
? Teams may have up to 25 players on the major league roster.
? In order for the sim to run, teams must have at least 9 pitchers and 11 position players on their major league rosters.
? Teams may keep up to 40 players on their minor league rosters.
? Trading is unlimited. Unreasonable trades may be reversed by the commissioner. New owners may not trade until they have run their team for 10 days.
? Slump buster is unlimited.
? Fatigue and injuries are on.
Lineups
? Starting Pitchers: This league uses 5-man rotations.
Schedules and tie breakers
? The number of games in the regular season is based on the number of games played during the corresponding real season but may be adjusted in order to allow a balanced schedule. The only days off are three at the All-Star Break.
