League Rules
Celebrity Softball - The SequelCommissioner - naplajoie
*** Rules subject to review and change by league commissioner as he tries to do what is best for the league as a whole at all times.
While owner input is welcome and encouraged, decisions made by the commissioner are final. This is not an autocracy, but the commissioner will have the final say with intensity, integrity and intelligence https://youtu.be/4whjK5o4X4c
MANAGERIAL EXPECTATION
If you are to miss an extended period of time, please message the commissioner before you leave if at all possible, with a ballpark (ha!) estimate of how long you will be gone.
All owners must be active. Failure to be active for 10 or more days without letting the commissioner know could lead to your replacement. If you return with a valid reason for your absence, you will be permitted to resume ownership in the league pending team availability.
Always try to improve your team. Rebuilding is a form of improving. I don?t expect this to be a problem, but if the commissioner determines that you are doing something detrimental to your team for no valid reason, you will be warned only once. Tanking, collusion and/or double accounts will raise a red flag. If any of this is happening, then you can and most likely will be kicked out.
CREDO:
This league exists, on its most fundamental level, as a lighthearted view through the looking glass into an alternate reality; a break from the humdrum everyday through friendly competition and good-natured banter.
Please note any owner who exhibits behavior on Pennant Chase, whether actions or words, that contravenes this ethic is subject to removal and subsequent ban from the league without notice, as well as potential prosecution by the International Criminal Court https://www.icc-cpi.int/about
CONDUCT:
In keeping with the league credo (above), flaming, doxxing, subtweeting etc. are strictly prohibited. As for chats and messages, please keep it in the playful spirit of the league. Mean-spiritedness will be dealt with harshly.
While the league of course encourages competitiveness, there needs to be a good deal of fun as well. You are allowed to tease someone lightly (i.e. after a sweep, you say "Get the brooms out...") But if it turns into something hurtful or offensive, you will dealt with swiftly and severely.
LEAGUE BASICS:
Team names and logos are consistent with the overall theme of the league and its storied history, and may not be changed.
Teams will auto-draft celebrity players upon entry and at the start of each subsequent season
Endurance and fatigue will be used.
Regular Season is 54 calendar days; one sim block of 3 games each day
note: one or more "bye" days may be implemented on an ad hoc basis at discretion of league office; however, this will not count as a day off for purposes of player/pitcher availability
OFFSEASON:
New celebrities of past and present (with randomly generated statistics) will be added as suggested by owners and the league office and placed in the upcoming auto draft.
FIELD DIMENSIONS:
Ballpark dimensions have a significant offensive bias as softball tends to be geared toward the long ball.
