League Rules
1985 Lingerer LeagueTEAM CHOICE
In this league you may choose any team for the current year you are playing as long as the team does not already exist in the league. We will be starting in 1985 and the team you choose can have any new players that played on that team for the following year. Duplicates are allowed on different teams, however you cannot have a duplicate player on your own team.
This league allows you to import all new players each year that existed on the roster during that year. You are allowed to keep these players and choose their new stats as years progress. You Must request this option or it becomes a burden on the commissioner to go back and delete duplicate players.
Options:
OPTION A: Importing all duplicate players. This is an interesting option to see how all players compared to the previous year. It is time consuming and only recommended for the baseball enthusiast. If you chose this option, you must delete the year you do not want in a timely fashion or you will be removed from the league.
Option B: - have new players imported only
Option c: no request=no imports
Any player may switch to another team during the off-season and start fresh.
I. EXPECTATIONS
A. It is expected and required that all managers be active in this league. The commissioner tools gives the ability to show how active each team owner is. If you are not going to log on to this league for a long time it may lead to your removal. If you know you're not going to be around for a while, please message the league office and let us know.
As commissioner I will make every attempt to reach out to inactive owners prior to removal, but will act on behalf of the league when necessary.
If you're INACTIVE for 14 days, I'll Remove you from the league. This minimizes the FUN. Learn to browse leagues before you jump in them. If you want to join, stay active.
PLAYERS can play 'Out of Position'. It's not recommended, as it will result in a ton of errors and hurt your Team anyway.
B. Where possible/practical your league office will post polls when considering material changes to the league rules.
C. Owners are expected to conduct themselves in a mature fashion.
D. All references to the league office herein means your commissioner.
E. Please bring all league issues, concerns etc. to your league office before contacting the entire league. We will do our best to address such issues.
III. ROSTER MANAGEMENT:
A. ROSTER SIZE: The limit is 25 in the majors and 40 in the minors. You cannot have duplicate players on your own team.
B. TRADES/TRADE DEADLINE - ALL TRADES ARE SUBJECT TO LEAGUE OFFICE REVIEW.
The trade deadline will be at 11:59ET on the day of Game 120.
Once a player is traded, you cannot import him the next season(s). If this is done you will be removed from the league as it is cheating.
C. SP TO RP CONVERSION.
Not allowed. May change in the future.
D. POSITION CHANGE.
Not allowed
E. STADIUM RENOVATIONS. Each team is allowed in the off season to change their stadium dimensions.
VI. PLAYOFFS
I will try to sim playoff games twice today. Once at 7 AM and again at 7 PM.
Yankee rule
The New York Yankees are not allowed in this league.
We will be using the MLB format.
Have fun, and I am open to changes.
Some leagues use fictional player progression. To learn more about how players progress, check the Player Potential page.
