League Rules

Players

🥎 This league uses real players, real stats, and real progression. Players are eligible for the league if they had 40 real at-bats or pitched 15 real innings in the corresponding year.

🥎 Rookies are assigned to teams based on the team they played for the most in the season they first become eligible (at least 40 at-bats or 15 innings pitched; player seasons not in the PC database will not be added).

🥎 Players remain with the team that they join as rookies (or that they began the league with in 1969) until they are traded or dropped.

🥎 In a situation where a player makes no appearances, then has a year or more "retired" (i.e. not enough "real" stats to qualify for this league), and returns in a future season based on real stats with another team, the player will go to the latter team. In order to keep from losing a player in this situation, teams need to give the player at least one appearance so that there will be a record of this on his player card.

🥎 Position changes (ie. to secondary position for batters or to SP or RP for pitchers) are not allowed.

Rosters

🥎 Teams may have up to 25 players on the major league roster.

🥎 In order for the sim to run, teams must have at least 9 pitchers and 11 position players on their major league rosters.

🥎 Minor league rosters are limited to 10 players.

🥎 Trading is unlimited from the end of the league championship series until the trade deadline after day 120. Unreasonable trades may be reversed by the commissioner. New owners may not trade until they have run their team for 10 days.

🥎 Slump buster is limited to 10 (real) days.

Lineups

🥎 Starting Pitchers: This league uses 5-man rotations. (Until 1973, the league used 4-man rotations.)

Schedules

🥎 Regular Season: 162 games - Teams are granted 3 days off for the All-Star break after day 90.

🥎 The two division winners face each other in a 7-game league championship series.

🥎 The team with better regular season record earns home field advantage in the 2-3-2 format.

Tiebreakers

🥎 In the case of a two-way tie for a division title, the teams play a one-game playoff.

🥎 Tiebreakers for all other situations, including homefield in the championship series:
1. head-to-head
2. power rankings

Drops/Free Agents

🥎 Free agents can be signed at any time during the regular season.

🥎 Waiver order is based the regular season standings from the previous season. For the first season (1969), the order is based on the real 1969 regular season standings.

🥎 Players may be dropped at any time.
