League Rules
====================1960 - 1979 DSL RULES:
====================
==============
Must Follow Rules:
==============
A1 - If you're INACTIVE for 14 days, I'll Remove you from the league. This minimizes the FUN. Learn to browse leagues before you jump in them. If you want to join, stay active.
A2 - Always try to improve your team in some FUN manner. Rebuilding is a form of improving.
A3 - NO PLAYERS can be playing out of Position. It's not acceptable. I will make Lineup changes for you. If it continues to happen, I'll remove you from the league. Your player will make errors and hurt your Team anyway. (Only exception is if there is an Injured Player and the Computer inserts a bench player in the lineup until Regular comes back)
A4 - There'll be NO changing of TEAM NAMES or LOGOS. Unless Commish OK's it. Once your Team is in a Real Major League City, the City name can't be changed, for example (Boston) will always stay Boston. Once your team has the full name of a real MLB team, you can choose any logo at any time for your team.
=================
ABOUT THE LEAGUE:
=================
The league will consist of 7-8+ Eras, it started with 1900 - 1919, Now we're in 1960 - 1979, next will be 80 - 99 etc. All Players in "Each Era" of this league will play for 20 seasons, then they'll Retire.
THERE IS "NO PLAYER PROGRESSION", BUT THERE IS "PLAYER RE-GRESSION".
Starting with the Twelfth Season of each Era.
All players are set at 31 years old, with "altercations" to their Best Seasons "Main Categories" to make it more realistic, as their First Seasons Stats. Designated "10th Player" players will be set at 21 years old and put back to 31 when the new season begins, with next set of designated "10th Player" players. All players will End Careers at 40 years old except for the 1919 "10th Player" players.
To start off every Era, we'll have a Twenty-five round draft. Then Free Agency opens to fill any additional roster spots. Each team MUST sign 10 players minimum each year, and up to a Maximum of 20 players per year. This is to ensure future owners aren't stuck with zero talent, when taking over a team.
Only 1 Player (Babe Ruth), played for 40 years. The only thing is he was a Pitcher for the First 20 years. It was a tribute to the Greatest Player in MLB History.
Any questions you can message me. I manage the Baltimore Orioles.

LEAGUE SETUP:
==============
1 - SIM SCHEDULE: I'll Sim 2 times per day. (See 1A chart below) 1 Morning Sim of 5 or 8 Games (between 6 - 9 am EST) also 1 Night Sim of 5 or 7 Games (between 5 - 9 pm EST). Times could fluctuate, it depends on how much time I get.
1A - REGULAR SEASON:
====================
- 15 Sims a day up until the All Star Break ( 8 morning )( 7 night )
- After the All Star Break we will play 10 Sims a day ( 5 morning ) ( 5 night )
- 13 Total days for the Regular Season.
2 - ALL STAR TIME: There will be 4 Days Off Granted for the All Star break. The All Star break is a time where you can make Lineup and Rotation changes to your team for the stretch run.
- We will 'Not' play an All Star game.
- All Stars will be picked by the computer. All Star teams will be made up of 25 players from each leauge. All star teams will be made up of 5 SP 5 RP a starter at C 1B 2B 3B SS OF OF and OF with a backup at each infield position as well as 2 additional OF.
- All Star Starters & (*All SP) will receive 2 ON FIRE points, and All Star Reserves will receive 1 On Fire point. Refer to Rule 10B, when players will no longer receive On Fire.
- *All SP in the All Star game receives 2 On Fire points. This went into effect beginning in 1925.
3 - TIEBREAKERS: Head to Head then Power Rankings will determine the Tiebreakers.
4 - TRADING: You're LIMITED to 3 trades a season. Draft picks can be Traded and Money can be traded. Draft picks can only be Traded a year in advance. If Cap money is traded it's Permanent. If you trade for a player under contract, you'll inherit the contract. Trades will be monitored. I'll VETO a trade, if I feel it's unfair to the rest of the league.
4A - TRADING AN ALL STAR: Players will remain Tagged as All Stars throughout their career, so we know who they are.
- Trading an All Star for another All Star, that is fine.
* However, if you trade an All Star for a 'Non All Star' then there will be guidelines to follow.
The Trade will go through, and the Team Dealing All Star will get Compensation. Here is the chart to see what you receive for Compensation.
------- 1 - Trading a $20+ All Star will get a 1st/2nd Rd Pick from Team you Deal with.
------- 2 - Trading a $10+ All Star will get a 1st Rd Pick from Team you Deal with.
------- 3 - Trading a $1+ All Star will get a 2nd Rd Pick from Team you Deal with.
------- 4 - Trading an Unsigned All Star will get a 3rd/4th Rd Pick from the Team
----------- trading the All Star. (Not a good choice. HINT Sign & Trade)
** If you Trade an All Star for a Draft Pick, then there'll be *NO COMPENSATION* awarded. As you're already receiving a Draft Pick.
4B - TRADING a "10th Player": If you Trade a '10th player selection' during the year he is 21, and he goes on winning the 10th player Award, team that lost 10th player will receive either 5 endurance, or 5 stamina to one player of their choice. Just to be fair for the team that chose the 10th player in the first place.
4C - TRADE DEADLINE: Will be after Game 122. The Deadline Time will be 6 AM EST. All Trades must be in by that time or will be Voided.
4D - ERA ENDING TRADES: Trades during the Final Year of an Era will only go through, if both teams trade Non All Stars for Non All Stars. All Star(s) for All Star(s) is also excepted. This is to ensure bottom Teams just don't unload their Top players for not much in return.
4E - TOP 8 PICK TRADE: Trading a player that was drafted in the current year Top 8 Picks will cost the receiving team 2 1st round picks (Consecutive years). This is to help for the loss of a Star player. This Rule "Trumps" the "All Star Rule".
- At the beginning of an Era, it will be the current year Top 20 picks
- Top 8 List or Top 20 List is always viewable on the homepage.
- This is the only type of Trade that will involve multiple season draft picks.
- If a Top 8 player has been dropped by his initial Team before he's signed, then there will be no picks guaranteed by his New Team if they decide to Trade him, unless the two teams agree to something. This is in place, because the Top 8 player has become a one year rental for the remainder of the season, and cannot be signed by any team (see Rule 5c).
5 - CONTRACTS: All Teams MUST Sign 10 players Minimum every year, but No More than 20. Expiring contracts count towards the 10 players signed. The 20 player max can be 20 players signed to long term deals, not including the expiring players. Players must be signed by the End of the World Series. Try to get them done earlier though. Commish will Sign your Players if there is no Response to keep things moving, (see Rule 5c)
- You can sign 1 to 3 year contracts and players will demand raises. Players 'Do Not' Re-Sign when contracts run out. You can get them back through the Draft and Free Agency if your LUCKY.
5A - CONTRACT EXTENSIONS: (Beginning in 1920) Teams may Resign 1 Hitter & 1 Pitcher "per 20 year era" One time only, to a New 3 year Contract. If you trade these players, you can't resign another player to take his place. Plus, Teams may Resign 1 WC player, Hitter or Pitcher to a New 2 year Contract. The WC player can't be the same player as New 6 year players. Message the Commish when the Hitter or Pitcher you want to resign is up for Extension.
* History page shows who you have signed.
5B - PLAYERS RETIREMENT HAT: Will be the Hat the player played most with. In the event of a Tie, the Team the Player played "First" with will be the Team Hat he wears, unless he had more Awards with the other team he's tied with, if inducted into the HOF or, if he is listed on any All Time List.
- To Qualify for the HOF in the 1st Era, a player must meet these requirements:
Career Leader, or Top 10 in 2 major categories, or 18x All Star, or 4x MVP/CY Winner
Batting - R, H, 2B, 3B, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OBP, SLG & OPS
Pitching - W, ERA, WHIP, SO, SHO & SV
- 2nd Era - Top 15
- 3rd Era - Top 20
- 4th Era - Top 25
- 5th Era - Top 30
- 6th Era - Top 35
- subject to change
* One Final PICK 3 Vote by Owners at the end of an Era will be given for Owners to find 3 additional players they feel should be allowed in the HOF.
- To Qualify for the GOLD ROOM in the 1st Era, a player must meet these requirements. Each Era after that New players Must fit into the following Top lists below.
Top 5 in 2 major categories
Batting - R, H, 2B, 3B, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OBP, SLG & OPS
Pitching - W, ERA, WHIP, SO, SHO & SV
- 2nd Era - Top 7
- 3rd Era - Top 10
- 4th Era - Top 12
- 5th Era - Top 15
- 6th Era - Top 17
- subject to change
5C - TOP 8 1st Rd PICKS ONLY: The Top 8 players should be valuable enough to keep for a while. If your team has the 9th pick or later the commish will not sign your players drafted in the 1st round.
- If a team fails to sign their 1st rd pick (Top 8 Only), the commissioner will sign them to a 2 year contract. These players should be signed regardless. Just a heads up, if this should happen to your team.
- Commish will check the Draft Results page to find the Top 8 players in the Draft, and post them on the home page.
- This is to keep teams with enough talent, if an owner decides to leave the league. The next owner will have some talent to begin with.
- If a Top 8 Pick is DROPPED, the New Team, or any other Team during the course of the season he goes to, will not be allowed to Sign him, due to possible conspiracies.
* Remember you can sign them from 1 to 3 years on your own.
** If a Team has "No Cap Space" I will not sign a player on your team.
*** First season of each Era the Top 20 players will have to be signed.
6 - TEAM SALARY CAP CAPS: Maximum - $200 can't go above
7 - DRAFT: Via league poll, Each year Before Free Agents open up, we will have an 8 ROUND or More Live Draft. Draft order will be based on Previous Seasons Standings. This is the Main Draft. All players with Expiring Contracts or Not Signed will be in this Draft + All the Free Agents.
Rule 7A - SLOW DRAFT RULES:
QUICK CHART: Team On the Clock - Make pick by
----------------------
10 AM EST - 10 PM EST - Same Day,...4 PM, if Commish picked previous Round
4 PM EST - 7 AM EST - Next Day,...10 PM, if Commish picked previous Round
10 PM EST - 4 PM EST - Next Day,...7 AM, if Commish picked previous Round
If Commish picked both Rounds then the times would be 1 PM, 7 PM & 4 AM, for the 3rd Round. This is to keep everyone HAPPY, and to keep the League moving at a nice pace. Rank your players, and I'll Use your list during the Slow Draft (check Rule 7B below). If you haven't logged on in 2 days, Commish will make a selection.
7B - FOR OWNERS WHO HAVEN'T RANKED PLAYERS:
============================================
During all "SLOW DRAFTS ONLY", if you haven't ranked any players, instead of Auto picking, Commish will pick a "Position of Need Player" going by my judgment with the highest OPS, if a batter is chosen or the player with the lowest WHIP, if a pitcher is chosen. Some owners aren't always able to get to a computer during the time frame they have to make their pick.
* This will "ONLY" take place during the Slow Draft.
** During the Live Draft, Auto Picks will still happen if your not there.
*** This should help keep the League strong.
7C - At the start of a New Era beginning with 1920, 1940, 1960 etc. The Draft order will be the team with the MOST Wins from the Previous Era will have the 1st Pick and 2nd Most wins will pick 2nd so forth. This will give everyone something to shoot for. This Draft is a Snake Draft, 1 - 20, then 20 - 1. All Expansion Teams will pick at the End of the Order, because they had Zero wins the previous era. Ties go to the Team who had more Wins the current year. PRI for current year will be the second tiebreaker.
* No Trading Initial Draft picks
8 - FREE AGENTS: Before the season starts, usually a day after the Draft, Free Agency will open. The Time will be most likely be at 8 pm est. Free Agents will close before the Playoffs Start.

12 - 10th Player: EST. in 1916, Each season, each team will be allowed to designate 1 player from their Team as a 10th P. Their ages will be changed to 21 years old.
The player they choose must fit this criteria:
1 - * "Player must not be Tagged, as an All Star"
2 - ** Teams will have until Game 9 of the season to name their 10th Player, by sending the Commish a message.
3 - *** All teams 10th Player choices, if any, will be viewable on the Home Page (down the bottom).
4 - Beginning of an Era, 10th player will mirror MVP/CY races pretty closely, so disqualifying the first round picks altogether the first year of the era makes sense, then if they aren't All Stars, they can be chosen the next year.
12A - At Seasons end, the Commish will pick a Max of 5 from the League to place in a Poll Vote during the LCS that will decide who our winner is from the Regular Season for the 10th Player, Co-Winners will be accepted.

3 - Final 10 years of any Era (+10) On Fire (starts in 1970) (maybe a star will be born late)
- The Winning Prizes are to encourage Teams to look at all the players in the league, not just the stars.
13 - SP CONVERTED to RP: PERMANENT! Each Team will be allowed Two Conversions per Era. Starting with 1920 season. After the 1939 season NO more conversions will be allowed until the next era. Must be 31 years old. Everyone is 31 you say, 10th players are 21 and can't be converted until they return to 31 years old.
* All Teams SP Conversions will be viewable on the History page (down the bottom) starting in 1920.
- These requests must be before regular season starts. Only players SIGNED to a CONTRACT can be converted. Owners can message the commish with the subject ?SP to RP Conversion?, & the full name of the pitcher he wants to convert.
- This process is manual but a few general guidelines to have some idea of what to expect:
- Stamina will drop significantly (75%)
- W, L?s and IP?s will drop (50%)
- BB/9 and H/9 will drop (5% & 10%)
- K/9 will improve (35%)
- CG will zero out.
14 - STADIUM RENOVATIONS: Before the beginning of each year, you can edit either LHB or RHB by "One step". ALL TEAMS (Expansion included) start without any Advantages or Disadvantages. Before 'New Teams' begin their FIRST season, they can choose to change either the LHB or the RHB effect of your park to either a mid-disadvantage or a mid-advantage.
* One side only per Year.
** All Teams Stadium changes are viewable on the History page (down the bottom).
15 - BABE RUTH RULE: Only 1 Player (Babe Ruth) will play for 40 years. The only thing is he'll be a Pitcher for the First 20 years (1900 - 1919). It's a tribute to the Greatest Player in MLB History.
16 - Try to check in frequently, as your team may have injuries that could result in players missing up to 40 games. Some players will need to be rested. This information can be found on your team page. If you aren't available to make these adjustments, the computer will do it for you automatically. The more participation and interaction leads to a more enjoyable and competitive league.
17 - HAVE FUN !!!
Some leagues use fictional player progression. To learn more about how players progress, check the Player Potential page.
