League Rules
CONCEPTThis league will be a decade at a time run through history, using Fav Team Budget drafting. Each owner will draft a franchise each season and build their team using only players from the decade in use. Owners cannot repeat franchises throughout this historical journey.
BEHAVIOR
No political talk allowed of any kind...hate it. Anyone deemed to be too mean spirited to other players or the commish is subject to removal. This includes personal attacks, non stop complaining, etc.
INACTIVITY
Any owner not on PC for a lengthy period of time can be removed at any time. That team will then be ownerless until the next offseason.
DRAFT
Each offseason will consist of a 1 round draft, run in order of previous seasons standings, with worst picking first and the WS champ picking last. There will always be MORE teams in the draft than franchises in the league, so will always have options to choose from. Because of this, no owner can repeat a franchise throughout run of the league.
There will be no set clock for the draft. However, if the commish feels an owner is taking too long, the commish will post a “pick is due by” time in the draft chat. Following that time, the owners pick will be skipped and messaged by the commish. The owners pick can then submit the pick through message at anytime, but the draft will proceed in the meantime.
ROSTERS
Rosters will have a minimum roster requirement of 23, so owners must draft at least 23 players in the budget draft. There will be no maximum, so if you want to draft 50 that fit in your budget, go for it.
AB/IP THRESHOLDS
League will use standard auto league AB/IP thresholds.
250 AB's
100 ip's to be an SP
30 ip's for an RP
**Unlike Auto leagues, you cannot switch an imported pitcher under 100ip to an SP position.
SP/RP and SECONDARY POSITIONS
How a player imports into the league is how they will stay. Pitchers under 100 ip cannot be converted to an SP with 40 pitch count. Position players cannot be changed to secondary positions as their primary positions.
The only exception to this are the early decades where there were no bullpens. For these decades, each owner can convert SP's to RP's to form a bullpen. This option will end starting with the 1950's decade.
OHTANI/RUTH RULE
1. Any player (Ohtani/Ruth) who could be used as both an SP and hitter, must be used for the same season, meaning the hitter Ohtani and SP Ohtani must both be from the same season, so you cannot have a 2021 SP and a 2018 DH for example.
2. If said player is used as both an SP and position player, his position will be made DH and his defensive stats will be changed to ensure he is used as DH only.
EDIT TEAM DETAILS
Commish will change team details each season to fit your drafted franchise and that particular decade.
Owners will have the ability to change park effects each season though.
OFFSEASON
Each offseason the commish will post a deadline for when teams need to be built and the next Opening Day will be. Offseason will be at least 1 week to put teams together, but will vary based on holidays, life events, etc.
IF an owner does not have their teams built by the commish set deadline, the commish will build their team for them. Any owner whose team is built for them will be subject to removal.
ENDURANCE/INJURIES
Like auto budget leagues, this league will NOT use EN, but will have injuries on. Injuries will be max of 8 for position players and 10 for pitchers.
TRADES
There will be no trades in this league, so each franchise will be comprised of only players who played for that team.
ROTATION
We will use a 5 man rotation.
SCHEDULE
League will be an automated 162 game schedule, where each team will play everyone a total of 18 times throughout the season.
PLAYOFFS
FOLLOWING the 1930's season, the league voted to expand the playoffs to 4 teams. The playoffs will be "fluid" in nature. As a general rule, the playoffs will be the top 4 teams, with no team receiving a bye. However, if there are ties in regular season record for 4th place, the playoffs will expand accordingly.
-No team will be left out who had the same regular season record as the top 4.
-Anytime there are 4 teams in the playoffs, no team gets a bye (1 will play 4, 2 will play 3)
-if more than 4 teams make the playoffs, an attempt will be made to make the bracket as even as possible. If 5 teams get in, seeds 4 and 5 will play a Opening Round, and seeds 1-3 will get a bye to second round. If 6 teams get in, seeds 1 and 2 will get a bye to second round.
All playoff series will be best of 7 games. Tiebreakers will ONLY be used to decide seeding/home field advantage.
TIE BREAKERS
In the event of a tie for final playoff spots, or home field, the following criteria will be use to break the tie, in order:
1. Head 2 Head Record
2. Run Diff
3. Coin Flip (only if the previous 2 are all ties)
Some leagues use fictional player progression. To learn more about how players progress, check the Player Potential page.
