College GameDay Season 33

League Rules

Welcome to College Gameday!

Commissioner: jim2miller

EXPECTATION for COACHES
- It is expected and required that all coaches be active in this league. Extended dormant periods will lead to removal from the league. If you know your not going be around for a while, message the commissioner and let him know.
- It is expected that teams try to compete to win. Teams which 'tank' by putting good players on the bench (or in the wrong position) could lead to removal from the league.
- Commissioner will run teams that are not being actively managed.
- Commissioner reserves the right to make improvements to uncompetitive teams.
- Users are allowed multiple teams, but not within the same conference.

OFF SEASON and ROSTER MANAGEMENT

GRADUATION
Players graduate at age 22.

PROGRESSION
Will be used each off season and players will age one year.

FRESHMEN
Each season add the following 18 year olds:
15 K, P
30 C, TE
50 G, T, QB
70 RB, DE, DT, S, CB
80 WR and LB
May add more or use less players as needed.

RECRUITING
The National Champion drafts first and the National Runner Up drafts second.
The team that lost to the champion in the semi-final drafts third and the team that lost to the runner up drafts fourth.
The remaining draft order is based on the previous season team records as sorted by Pennant Chase.
Team records will include bowl games and playoffs.
After round three the draft order is reversed.
After round five a supplemental draft is used. Drafts will be at least eight rounds total.

FINAL RECRUITING
Players will be available after drafts via the drop/add process. Roster limit is 50.

TRANSFER PORTAL
-Player hoarding may result in loss of players. Commissioner may remove the bottom rated AV players and place them in a waiver process if a team has more than:
Four QB, TE, C, P, K
Eight RB, G, T, CB, DE, DT, S
Twelve WR, LB
Waiver order is the most recent ending draft order (worst to first).
Players can only be claimed if they would be a top two player at that position based on AV.
Players under redshirt protection do not count in team totals.

SIGNING DAY
Players can be signed until week 8, when Adds are turned off.

PRESTIGE POINTS: AWARDED
Coaches/teams earn points:
1. Each regular season win: 1 point
2. Reaching the playoffs: 3 points

Team points are cleared when a coach leaves the team.
New coaches are granted five points to start their first season.

PRESTIGE POINTS: CASHING IN
3 points per upgrade level per player:
F to U
U to A
A to S

Therefore, it would require 9 points to move from F to S rating. Level C is no longer used because it is the same as A.

2 points
Redshirt a player. Players can only be redshirted once and will be given 40 injury days to keep them from playing during a Redshirt season. Redshirt players will have their age reduced by one year so they will get an extra progression. Teams cannot redshirt a player if they do not have another active player at that position.

Unused prestige points carry over to the following year unless the coach leaves the team.

Revision history
1. League rules were in draft status from 11/14 until (12/29/22) Added week 15 (three bye) schedule (was 14); changed leagues from E/W to Bryant/Rockne; Changed helmet stickers to prestige points, changed point system and rewards
2. (1/17/23) Increased league from 24 teams to 36 teams, so multiplied freshman class size by 1.5 and increased playoff teams to six. Roster size cut to 55. Note that expansion teams were given a roster of free agent players who were not progressed. Named bowl games will now be non-playoff games. Playoffs will be championship quarterfinal, semi-final, and final/Bacci Bowl.
3. (3/21/23) added transfer portal details. Added time to redshirt (to cover rest for bowl games. Clarified conference champion requirements. Added rest prior to bowls. Added commissioner has right to make improvements to uncompetitive teams. Clarified redshirt process.
4. (6/1/23) added five prestige points to new coaches, tiered redshirt cost, can import less new freshman
5. (11/26/23) added teams to league total of 48 from 36. Move from 6 to 8 playoff teams and added Peach Bowl and Sun Bowl. Increased freshman class size but decreased rosters from 55 to 50. Simplified prestige points formula and removed pre draft recruiting. Added adjusted power index value (minus five per loss). NOTE cleaned up prestige point cashing in section to reduce confusion specifically with A rating.
6.(9/28/24) Reduced freshman class sizes and roster limit from 55 to 50
7. (12/13/24) Increased league by 2 teams and added a conference championship game and 12 team playoff. Removed a bowl game and adjusted freshman class size and prestige point system.
8. (2/8/25) Changed draft order to begin with champion then runner-up. Removed C level potential and replaced upgrade system with 3 points per level. Dropped to 48 teams, removed Peach bowl, now four conferences with two divisions each.

Some leagues use fictional player progression. To learn more about how players progress, check the Player Potential page.
