Budget
-Each team has a $250 budget to start with. The budget should be enough to sign anyone we want to keep from our original rosters. This number MAY be adjusted if it seems too high.
- Players may NOT be signed if it means going over budget.
- Contract buyouts may affect the next seasons cap number. (Addressed below).

Rosters
- Every team has a 36 man roster (26 majors 10 minors).
- [Inaugural season, the minors roster will be 4. 3 more spots added each season until we get to 10]. This is due to player pool and will grow as we add prospects each season.
-Any player can be in the minors.
-You can always have less than 36 players on your team as long as you have a legal active roster (11/9).
On request, a player MAY have their position switched to secondary position without penalty.

Free Agency
-There will be 2 rounds of FA
-The first round will last 4 days
**Round one has a minimum total value of $25 of overall value**
-The second round will last 2 days
-All bids should be in Position, Name, $/yrs=overall $ format
-Max amount of years is 6

Trades and Draft Pick Trading
-Trades are unlimited
-Draft pick trading is allowed, but only for one season in the future
-If you think a trade is unfair, message me and it will be put to a vote to be decided on by the trade committee. There is a representative from each division and the final vote will be either myself or vice commish.

Contracts
- After the inaugural draft, owners may sign any or all players to contracts up to 6 years.
- After the 2nd season is over, owners may choose ONE expiring contract to create a Legacy player. (Details below) Hypothetically, as many as 6 Legacy players may be on a roster.

DFA Rules
-You may DFA as many players as you want
-If a player is on an expiring contract, you don't have to pay any of the overall contract.
-If a player is signed to a longer term deal, the current season is waived. Owners will be responsible for 50% of remaining dollars in a lump sum. Cap space is affected for the following FA sessions. (EX: playerA is on expiring $9 deal...no charge, playerB is on a $9 deal with 2 years remaining? $18M remain/ 2 = $9 cap hit)

Prospect Tags
-All rookies that are drafted or free agents who have never played a game in any season are eligible to be tagged.
-If you tag your player, they do not have to be paid as long as they are under 28 years old, and stay in your minor leagues
-Once a rookie plays one MLB game, they are ineligible to be tagged for the rest of their career. They either need a contract or will be released in the offseason.

Progression
- Players progress till 28 and decline at 32
- Players retire at age 40 if not signed to contract.
- Once a player is retired from the this league they can not come back. Names may be recycled in the draft.

Inaugural Draft (Jan 2025):
- Slow snake draft (random order for the first 20 rounds)
- 6 supplemental rounds (one per day) to finalize active rosters.

Rookie Drafts:
- 3 Rounds (Reverse Order of Standings)
- Player pool will consist of fictional players.

Trade auditing: (New 2/5)
As a salary cap league with prospects, there are bound to be trades that are uneven on the surface. I am pretty flexible if it appears both sides gain something positive. I am not going to set up a committee or anything. If you question a trade, let me know. I will contact both owners to see WHY they chose their deal. As long as both can convince me there are positive benefits, we are likely good. If there are still questions, I will put to a league vote. But let's not let it get that far. Vetoed trades rarely have positive results.

Inactivity
-if you know you will be away from the site for more than 7 days, message me so you are not booted.
-If an owner does not come online for 14 days, they MAY be booted.
-if an owner does not participate during the offseason, they MAY be booted. (FA bids, ranking players for draft, signing contracts)

Potential adjustments:
- Owners may nominate 1 hitter and 1 pitcher to have "S" status.
- Owners may nominate 1 hitter and 1 pitcher to have "A" status.
- ***Owners may ONLY nominate players if they do not currently have a player of that status. However, 'S' and "A" players MAY be traded. If you trade your S player, you may nominate another. You may NOT change a veteran player back to C to get a younger player potential, so choose carefully.
- However...

Franchise Tag: (Expiring Player Extension)
- Each season a team may select a player to be (Franchise Tagged).
- Players 28 or older change to (S) potential.
- Players under 28 maintain existing potential.
- The salary will be the asking price of the player. (4 year max extension).
