League Rules
Favorite Teams League:1) 6 owners, 12 teams: Each owner with an AL team and an NL team. You cannot trade players between your teams.
2) Franchises will be selected with aletter drawing. A to F in the AL, F to A in the NL.
3) Once the teams are picked, each owner will pick a starting season for each of his players using stat change.
4) Each year you will get that team’s imports that aren't already in the league. In other words, if you start with the 1969 Twins, for year two, you will have all of your players, who have received classic progression, and you will get any additional player who played for the 1970 Twins (not in the league).
5) Rosters: Major league – 26, plus 12 more in the minors
6) No contracts, no free agents, just imports. Classic progression 27/31.
7) For imports, you will receive all players on your team who had 30 IP or 50 AB in the majors in your initial season. Those with less than 100 AB get their stats doubled. To change stats in future seasons, players must have 30 IP or 100 AB. Also, in the future imports will need 100 AB. If a player played for more than one team in his import year, the team he played for first will get him.
8) 4 man rotations in the first season, and injury max of 5 games in the first season. Assume a 5-man rotation and 10 game injury max in subsequent seasons.
9) Duplicate players can co-exist in the league with the original rosters but not future imports. No duplicates allowed on the same team (i.e. the Phillies cannot have two Jim Bunnings.)
10) 12 teams, 2 leagues. Regular season will be 162 games: league winners and 1 wild card make the playoffs. Both rounds will be best of 7 games. Seeding based on W-L record. Higher seed hosts. In the case of ties for a playoff spot, a one-game playoff will be required (if one team makes the playoffs, and one goes home), or by head-to-head record (if both teams would make the playoffs.) NO TEAM WILL EVER BE TIED FOR A PLAYOFF BERTH, AND NOT MAKE THE PLAYOFFS, WITHOUT A CHANCE TO WIN THEIR WAY IN ON THE BALLFIELD.
11) POSITION CHANGES: Pitchers: If you are short of starters, or relievers, you can switch one to the other to fill a need. One change per pitcher per season.
Fielders: Will switch primary and secondary position when the secondary position was played 25% of the players career (by games played) or 35% of the present season.
12) New teams are not allowed to be brought in
Some leagues use fictional player progression. To learn more about how players progress, check the Player Potential page.
