DDay League 1962

League Rules

Welcome to the 1944 DDay league.

Each owner will control 2 teams: 1 NL and 1 AL. When you enter the league, you will choose your draft spot by letter from the remaining choices. The commissioner has chosen 2 losing teams with a combined .433 winning percentage. In addition to the Cy Young and MVP, there will be an award given for "Manager of the Year": given to the owner whose teams have the best combined record.

You may NOT trade players between your two teams, and I reserve the right to undo any trade that smells suspicious. There will be no limit to the number of trades a team can make. Additionally, no player will be permitted to play for both of an owner's teams in the same season.

This will be a NO contract league. Players will be acquired by imports (any player not assigned to a team that appears on next season?s roster will be imported.) No artificial age limit.

Each team will be permitted unlimited stat changes each offseason, to allow a choice between the results of classic progression and the present season?s real stats. 100/75/35 will be the minimums for stat changes (AB/IP for SP/IP for RP)

Rosters will be 25/15. 40 keepers per roster. Cut players will form a free agent pool.

4 man pitching rotation. Minimum of 11 position players, 9 pitchers, and 2 catchers per roster.

Imports: Initial Season:
Minimums: 20 IP, 40 AB (to be increased incrementally in subsequent seasons; 35 IP/100 AB max)
1945: 25 IP, 60 AB
1946: 30 IP, 80 AB
Low AB/IP players will be edited or have their stats doubled so they can be progressed next season per PC

Divisions, games, and playoffs: 2 leagues, each with 2 4-team divisions. Each owner will have 1 team in each league, and regular season games will be intraleague only. Your teams will never play each other, unless they both make the world series. Playoffs will be two rounds: division winners vying for the league pennant, pennant winners meet in the world series. Best of 7, each round.

There will be 168 games played, so that each team plays the other 7 teams in their league an equal number of times (24), to make division and races fairer. Game 140 will be the trade deadline: no trades permitted between game 140 and the end of the world series.
