League Rules

SCHEDULE
12 teams in 2 divisions. 162 games.
Play each division opponents 18 times. Play each non-division opponents 12 times.
After an opening inter-division series, your next 5 series will be against your 5 division opponents.
You will also end the season with 5 series against your division opponents.
In games 97-102 you will play back-to-back series against one division rival.

PLAYOFFS
(1) Two rounds of playoffs. Two division winners, and two wildcards which can be from the same division.
(2) Division winner with best record will play wildcard with the worse record in 5-game semi-final series
(3) Semi-final winners will play in a 7-game series for the Championship.

The team with the better overall record will have the home-field advantage.
If tied, the tie-breaker will be head-to-head matchups.

OTHER SETTINGS WHICH YOU CAN ALSO FIND ON THE LEAGUE PAGE

Trades: You can trade with other players. The Commissioner will veto trades that are suspicious in any way, such as one-sided trades by teams once they are out of contention, or if a novice player is obviously getting snookered. The trade deadline will be after game 120, after which there will be no further trades.

Injuries: Position players can be injured for a maximum of 5 days (which I think means 15 games, since we will sim 3 games per day); Pitchers for 10 days (which I think means 30 games, since we will sim 3 games a day). I could be wrong on that calculation, but I have it set at 5 and 10 days.

The need for rest will be calculated into this game, so players will get tired based on endurance ratings.

We will use a DH for all teams.

REST SCHEDULE

The Commissioner will grant all teams rest days on a rotating schedule throughout the season. This will create a greater variety of pitching matchups and allow your 5th/weakest starting pitcher to be skipped on his time through the rotation a few times during the season. Rest days WILL NOT change the fact that you still have 3 games each day; they instead magically simulate your entire team getting an extra day of rest, but your games for the day will carry on as normal.

The rest schedule will be fair and even to all and will be roughly as follows:

After game 40: Rest day for 4 worst teams
After game 50: Rest day for middle 4 teams
After game 60: Rest day for top 4 teams

After 81 Games: 3-day rest for all teams for simulated All-Star break

After game 120: Rest day for 4 worst teams
After game 130: Rest day for middle 4 teams
After game 140: Rest day for top 4 teams

PLAYOFF REST SCHEDULE

The Commissioner will grant all teams 2 rest days after game 162 and before the playoffs begin. If you are in a tie-breaker game during this 2-day rest period you will only get one rest day.

So the playoff schedule will be:

Game 162
2 days rest (unless you are in a tie-breaker game)
Division series games 1 and 2
Rest Day
Division Series games 3 and 4
Rest Day
Division Series games 5
2 days rest
World Series games 1 and 2
Rest Day
World Series game 3 4 and 5
Rest Day
World Series games 6 and 7
