The West defeated the East 113–112 with Karl Malone of the Utah Jazz taking the Most Valuable Player Award. The Mailman delivered the win for the West with a fast break reverse layup at the buzzer. Malone had 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists. Detlef Schrempf of the Dallas Mavericks had 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists in the contest.
