Auto League 1310 Best of 1990s

Welcome to the Auto League

Auto Leagues are seasons that last about two months (baseball) or one month (basketball & football). Baseball and Baksetball sim about 2-3 games per day, while Football sims one game per day. Since this league is run with essentially no commissioner, there is a trade limit. Please be reasonable with your transactions, and report any bad owners using the feedback form.

League Status:
Waiting for teams to draft. Next round (7) 9:36 AM on 1/25/2025.

You can start ranking players for the draft as soon as you sign up! (The Draft link appears on the league homepage and your team page when you are signed in.)

Once the league fills, a draft round will run once every eight hours until all teams have 23 players. Once the draft is complete games will begin! Free agency opens after the first games. Please be sure to read the League Rules for further details!
This is NOT a keeper league, so once your team's season is over, you can stay in this league and re-draft next season, or quit and join a new Auto League.
When do games start?
After all teams have an owner and have drafted, the games will begin. You will get an email after the first game notifying you that the league has started.

What time are games played?
Barring any issues with the servers, games are auto-simmed 2 or 3 times a day, starting as early as 1:00am and ending as late as 11:00pm Pacific Time. Users can sim games from the My League List page every eight hours. This allows the league to keep moving if the server has issues or the participants in the league want to move the season along slightly faster than the auto sims allow. There will always be at least eight hours between games so managers can react if desired.

Can I customize my team?
Yes! You can change your team name, logo, and more via the "Owner Console" on your "My Team" page before the season begins and up until the 5th game of the season.

World Series and post-season
Division winners and three wild card reach the post-season. Owners can leave the league once their team is elimnated, or wait until the playoffs are over and re-draft the next season.

I'm always eager to here what you enjoy or think can be improved with the site, so stay in touch via the feedback form and follow site updates on the news & notes page.

An unrelated user tweeted a photo that included a man with a t-shirt that was seen as sympathetic to the idea of violence against a journalist, in the context of a presidential election. Schilling posted something was seen as supportive of the t-shirt, calling it "awesome." He immediately clarified that his comment was 100% sarcastic/joking, and deleted his comment.

That was certainly in bad taste and even an abuse of social media. Nobody should do that, even in a joking manner. But to call it "calling for the lynching of the HoF voters" is a wild exaggeration.

Regarding the ethics clause, which many writers have explicitly invoked, Schilling won the Roberto Clemente Award, Branch Rickey Award, Hutch Award, Sporting News Good Guy of the Year award, Lou Gehrig Award, Babe Ruth Award, Worth Magazine's Young Benefactor of the Year award and the designation of "Most Caring Athlete'' from USA Today. He was also a tireless advocate for veterans' causes and a champion in the fight against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's Disease.)

I'm not saying all of that excuses that retweeting something in bad taste and showing poor judgment generally on social media, but it's relevant if the criterion here is the ethics/character clause. Obviously, there are many players in the Hall who have said worse things than this *directly* (as opposed to commenting approvingly on someone else saying them) and who never retracted those statements. Because, again, the character clause has never been interpreted to apply to completely non-baseball issues, except here.
