St. Louis Cardinals Win League Championship

The Chicago Cubs ended their four-year streak of second-place finishes by falling one spot to third. The surprising Boston Bees had the best season in their history to finish second with 91 wins. And the St. Louis Cardinals held them both off to win their second straight league championship. Cardinals first baseman Johnny Mize took home his league-record fourth MVP award and Bees pitcher Jim Turner won his second Cy Young award.
