I am going to do a snake draft for initial draft for new league. What is the best way to do this so it doesn't have to be in one night? For example I would like to do it with perhaps a 4 hour time limit per pick so teams can pre-rank. Is this possible?
Or do 3 rounds per day some how. Or 3 rounds every 8 hours allowing teams to re-rank between each 3 rounds.
How is this done?

Re: Draft

I did a snake draft to kick-start a new league, since it seemed the most fair. Also, doing a "slow draft" (picks every 24 hours, or 8 hours, or whatever) is a common precursor to a live draft.

As far as I know, there is no way to make a slow draft happen automatically. Basically, it's the honor system. If someone doesn't draft, the commish can auto-pick for them, skip them, or whatever you predetermined. Once the live draft starts, I don't really change the timer countdown (tried once; screwed things up). Again, just the honor system. If someone is online, I'll give them time. If they're not, then I auto-pick right away.

If you want breaks between rounds, as you suggested, I think you're better off just having multiple drafts. E.G. First 4 rounds one night, next 4 rounds the next night, and so forth. That allows for pre-rankings to stay relevant to how the draft goes down.

Hope this helps.

Definitely does. Thanks.
