Which Ohtani...?
Which Ohtani...?
So far this year, it looks like Ohtani's pitching just might be impacting his hitting. Yet, his pitching stats are more than dominant.
IF you were the Dodgers, what would be your course of action?
I'm sure Sheik's gotta have some thoughts on this.

Re: Which Ohtani...?
Ohtani's slump is nothing compared to CalRaleigh , 0 for his last 36 !! Kris Davis I think holds the record with an 0 for 54 streak some years back .
Re: Re: Which Ohtani...?
Where do I start? First things first - Ohtani needs to be dropped in the order until he starts acting like a leadoff hitter - you know, take pitches, draw walks, get on base? Besides that, it's a long season and we're only 1/4 through it. I get why they are not batting him when he pitches, but as a fan, I don't like it. Fans pay to see him hit and pitch. He'll figure it out. What is really pissing me off the most about the Dodgers right now, among other things, is their use of the Challenge System - or more to the point, their lack of use of it. I don't know if Will Smith is being instructed not to use it or if he just doesn't know a strike from a ball. The hitters are just as bad - I watched Kim last night take 2 obvious balls that were called strikes and not challenge either one - hello 0-2 count !! Same thing with most of them - only Muncy seems to use it. Meanwhile, the Giants were getting calls overturned left and right. I get saving them, but if you're right, you're right and you keep the challenge. I had to turn the game off before I had a blood pressure issue !! I get the philosophy of "we want everyone healthy and playing well at the end of the season when it counts" but they raised their prices on everything this year and are giving us a crap product right now. Back to Ohtani - he has too much pride to allow this slump to linger. If it were me, and the Dodgers didn't ask 😉, I would leadoff Mookie, Tucker, Freddie, Will Smith, Ohtani, Pages, etc. If he gets hot, then think about moving him back up. He strikes out too much and doesn't walk enough to be leadoff. Okay, I didn't mean to ramble like this, but I had to vent a little and my cats don't really care 🙀🙀🙀

Re: Which Ohtani...?
@sheikyerboudi , as a red sox fan i wish our problem was Ohtani!! it is a tough choice of which all star to hit lead off!! we have a guy batting .184 with a .241 obp hitting lead off!! i am reasonably confident Ohtani will be fine. As far as the challenges, it seems a few teams are very hesitant to use the, boston being one of them while others challenge every close call. during a recent game vs detroit, the tigers challenged at least 5-6 calls and kept winning most of them meanwhile boston just sat on theirs, very frustrating. your blood pressure would be much higher watching a mediocre team instead of the dodgers!! lol
Re: Re: Which Ohtani...?
It's a great game! How we all have things about our team, no matter how great, can make us crazy. My Royals sweep Seattle. In Seattle. Which kick started a run from an 8-17 record to within a game of .500. Now we are about to be swept by the Whitesox. The Whitesox for God's sake! We are great at the ABS. Sal Perez is one of the best. I think I would rather be in the Sheik's shoes. Complaining about the lack of ABS use and whether the NL MVP should be dropped in the order at the quarter pole while he pursues a Cy Young.
Re: Re: Which Ohtani...?
Wednesday night vs SF, Ohtani throws 7 scoreless with 8 K's and gets the win; the Dodgers didn't bat him in the game or in in Thursday's game to give him what Doc called a "reset". He was back in the leadoff spot last night vs Anaheim and walked and hit a double - and struck out twice, so mixed results. I watched the game and can say that he still doesn't look right. He's lights-out as a pitcher this year, clearly the Dodger's best SP right now.
