Pitchers out of rotation order

Why would the sim be using my pitchers out of rotation? yesterdays day 23 game Palmer in the 5th slot threw. Today 24 clemens threw he is in the 2nd slot, now it has the 1 slot to throw next game. Any idea why? thanks for any help.

They won’t pitch if they aren’t rested. You have changed pitchers a lot, including dropping your original number 1 (Seaver) for a worse pitcher (Hershiser). You did that after Clemens 2 pitched so since Hershiser was rested and in the 1 spot, he pitched next. When your 5 pitcher throws, Hershiser is not rested yet so Clemens goes next. When you have an off day eventually Hershiser will go before Clemens, not that you’d want him to.

Yeah I forgot the sim wants to pitch the one slot before any other if both rested equally. Forgot that . thanks ..
