Hi all. New user here. Have a friend who had been recommending this site for awhile. Are there any "custom leagues" that are newbie friendly?

@basesloadedbunt there isn’t per se a custom league designed specifically for new players. Something I should bubble up to the top of my to do list is the idea of offering leagues for specific types of users, like vets, rookies etc.

I would start with an auto league or two and get accustomed to the sim, setting lineups, and drafting.
Check out the custom leagues on the join leagues page. Browse leagues you might be interested in. I would avoid joining an existing league and being assigned a crap franchise someone else mismanage. Could be disheartening.
Unless you enjoy the challenge. Random progression custom leagues are a little easier to improve a team quicker than real progressions.
Beware of making a bunch of trades to start. There are a few who would like to take advantage of newbies. Remember it's not fantasy baseball.
Most importantly read and know the rules of the league. Questions on the rules, ask the commish. For the most part people in the leagues are very helpful in getting you accustomed to that league.

Jim's advice is 100% spot on. Auto leagues are the best way to get acclimated to how the sim works. It's very different from other well-known sims out there like OOTP and WhatIfSports
